I assume you mean eastbound thru the Canal. I've been through it a few times and I don't think there is one side better than the other. The same things are on both sides. I saw most of it from up on the top deck when coming to the locks. I do remember one interesting area you will see from the port side. That is the original canal the French tried to build and were unsuccessful. You can see that branch off the north side. On our cruises they had lectures about the Canal the day before and I found them very informative. If they have them make it a point to go. THe other great thing about Canal cruises is that they usually contain a stop in Costa Rica. Beautiful country.
