wanderer34 Posted September 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2007 We are doin the Panama Canal repo on the Sun , leaving San Diego on 9 Oct, 2007. We were given 9027 on the port side...Does anyone know the view preference while going east bound...Do we have the good side?
Grandpaul Posted September 3, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2007 I assume you mean eastbound thru the Canal. I've been through it a few times and I don't think there is one side better than the other. The same things are on both sides. I saw most of it from up on the top deck when coming to the locks. I do remember one interesting area you will see from the port side. That is the original canal the French tried to build and were unsuccessful. You can see that branch off the north side. On our cruises they had lectures about the Canal the day before and I found them very informative. If they have them make it a point to go. THe other great thing about Canal cruises is that they usually contain a stop in Costa Rica. Beautiful country.
Fisical1 Posted September 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 3, 2007 I would recommend not staying in the room. Its great to wonder from side to side of the ship to look at all the sites esp going through the locks.
