Lightpackers Posted September 5, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2007 After our cruise in November, Istanbul to Barcelona, we followed a previous cruiser's suggestion and contacted Barcelona Taxi for a pickup from the pier to our hotel. Unfortunately, they are no longer providing this service and suggested taking a taxi at the pier for approximately 25 euros. Our hotel offered a pick-up by taxi for 50 euros, which frankly we feel is excessive. While it is true we will have 4 bags plus carry-ons, the difference between 25 vs. 50 euros is significant. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Helen and Bruce
Rare LHT28 Posted September 5, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2007 According to report in the Med forums there are lots of taxi's at the port. Some other sites I have saved are http://www.barcelona-airport-transfers.com/en/home_eng_barcelona.html http://www.taxidriverbarcelona.com/indexeng.html http://barcelonataxivan.com./ There is a HOHO bus that stops at the dock but with lots of luggage it could be a problem http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/imgfiles/ecv/bbt/planol.pdf http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/?go=jN7uAYLx/oIJaWVQCL0fU93ygJVYLOtTSdv4KdOkywigA80qxbIvPI1yZeIxuGJuTXrlzDdD94kJAtrg3aPj
212cruiser Posted September 5, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2007 Try Juan Collado with Autosvillar in Barcelona. 011-34-657-958-797; info@autosvilar.com, www.autosvilar.com. He can arrange all of your transport/luggage needs.
Animag1 Posted September 5, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2007 In June we just walked off the Insignia at about 8AM, picked up our bags, and got in one of the many waiting taxis. By 8:15 we were at our hotel.
meow! Posted September 5, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 5, 2007 In 2004, our taxi ride from Hotel Colon to the Regatta was only 10 euros. Taxis are plentiful in Barcelona, don't worry, let them run by the meter!
