Momma Mojito Posted September 13, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2007 On the Princess Carribean. Can book 11:30 flight to cincy. Have been OK doing this from Miami. Should I be OK for FLL We just sailed the CB and had a 11:05 flight out of FLL and had no problem. We were of the ship at 8:00 and had Princess transfers to the airport We had plenty of time to spare.
Toto2Kansas Posted September 13, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2007 That is the time we usually try to get our flights out of FLL 11:15-11:45. So far, never had a problem and we are usually at the airport by 9:00 AM. We have always arrived in time and never got hung up on the ship before either. So, if all goes well, it shouldn't be a problem.
Kirsten T Posted September 13, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2007 It really depends on how many other ships are in port that morning. We had an 11:50 flight last Feb. and if it hadn't been delayed for an hour, we wouldn't have made it. 7 ships were in, including 3 from Princess, and it was the single-most stressful experience of my life. There are only so many customs agents, baggage handlers, cabs, etc. working at the port, and with close to 20,000 people disembarking/embarking at the same time, nobody got anywhere fast. Check cruisecal.com to see what you're up against, then decide. Good luck!

2theship Posted September 13, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2007 We debarked from an RCI ship last December 23, with 8 ships in port that day, with an 11:30 flight. Took express walk-off, and a cab, and were at the airport in plenty of time. Enough to spend 30 minutes redistributing things in our luggage to get all of the bags under the 50 lb limit. Toto2Kansas Posted September 13, 2007 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2007 We also disembarked a Princess ship on December 23 in Fort Lauderdale last year. There were more ships in port than we had ever seen at one time before. We decided on the Princess transfers as we had booked a flight after 1:00 just to be safe and we weren't sure about taxi availability with that many ships there. We still could have caught a much earlier flight at 11:30 if we could have found one. Ended up sitting around the airport for many hours. No problems at all. Phamer55 Posted September 13, 2007 #8 Share Posted September 13, 2007 This might be really pushing it...how about a 10:10 am flight on SkyBus?
gopher's girl Posted September 13, 2007 #9 Share Posted September 13, 2007 11 am flight - You can do it if this ship is on time or close to on time. Just get a taxicab at the port - $10 to the airport. Have fun! 10 am flight - this could be pushing it but many people have no trouble - again, if the ship is on time - since your flight is before 11 am, take a copy of your boarding information to the purser and get early disembarkation tags, that way you will be sure to get off in enough time. I don't know anything about your airline, but the FLL airport is rather efficient in my experience.
