The -Free Coupon Book-

I wouldn't be too upset about missing the coupon books. To my eyes the offers aren't that big a deal.

$3 off a t-shirt but only if you book a shore excursion. A free key chain if you buy 3, 5x7 photos. Things like that, they don't seem to be worth all that much and are combined with restrictions.

I guess if you are on a shore excursion and were going to buy a T-shirt anyway $3 off might be better than a kick in the pants.

We recieved ours shortly after booking and we are not impressed at all..The dinner coupon is good for the first night only;) ;)

I was just bemoaning this coupon. DH and I would love to use it, but the first night is the one night the kids won't be at the children's program, and we'd like to have dinner alone if we dine at a specialty restaurant. Oh well! I'll probably bring the coupons with me and give them to people on board who might be able to use them. DH will use the casino coupons, and that's probably it.

Only one I might use is a third drink free at sailaway if I purchase two.

Most useless coupon is for the sixth night free in a specialty restaurant if I purchase five -- my cruise is only five nights.

If you are with someone else who also has one of these books (or if you have two books and can find a partner), you can take advantage of the "place $5 bet and casino will match it" as follows: Go to the roulette table. One of you bets red and the other black. One of you will win and one will lose. The loser loses $5 plus the coupon. The winner wins $10 and gets back his original $5 for a total of $15; they keep the coupon. So between the two of you, you've put in $10 and gotten back $15. Split the $15 and you've each made a profit of $2.50, guaranteed.

(And for the detail minded, yes, there is a 2/38 chance that you both lose if the spin comes up 0 or 00. So each of you has a 36/38 chance of making $2.50 and a 2/38 chance of losing $5.00, which is still a positive expected return of about $2.10.)

:)...good way to cover yourself

And the chance to use it is limited--las tyear on the Jewel they had none and on the Pearl last week, XL was available in one plain style only.

The photograph coupons are not worth the paper they are printed on.

The one for a free magnet with multiple 5 x 7 purchases is the EXACT same deal EVERY passenger can get with or without the coupon - when I tried to get something more (since afterall I DID have a COUPON) - I was told "but ma'am some people don't have the coupon" as to why I got the SAME THING as those without a coupon.

The coupons are like a SLAP in the face, rather than anything special.
