It Was Mine - But Only for a Day

My upgrade is GONE :mad::(

 

I sat on the phone to Princess/PO this morning for 45 minutes, to accept my upgrade before 5pm Friday. I was so excited, I even printed out the confirmation booking. It said BC B603. With our name on it.

 

Finally, I got someone and after telling them I wanted to confirm my upgrade,

gave my booking no. and then .... SILENCE. After a minute, she put me on hold and then came back and said it was a MISTAKE :confused:

 

Princess made an error, and no explanation, thank you very much, we are

back on a BD guarantee.

 

NOT HAPPY.. so I shredded my confirmation.

 

27 days to go, and we are still waiting.

 

Has this ever happened to anyone else???

An awful shame for them to get your hopes like that.

Disappointing about no explanation.

I think I would have been insisting they honour the offer.

 

Is a bit of a shame, but at least you're still going.

Well, gotta be careful, I have already asked them 3 times when we will get our cabin allocation, only to be told "we do 500 at a time", 1950 passengers, that gives them - if they do one allocation a week - 4 weeks, we booked in April, i reckon that's plenty of time. I am not liking this one little bit, but I have paid and I am guaranteed at least a balcony.

 

Dont want to have that little black cross next to our name.

 

I should just print it out again and go to fair trading???

Send them an Email NOW! State (nicely) how you were very excited to get the upgrade etc etc and were very upset to find it was a mistake (on P&O's behalf).

State the booking name, cruise etc.

Do it now though. They promise to get back to you within 21 days.

They may come to the party with the upgrade or compensate you for your "severe disappointment" with an OBC.

Thanks everyone for all your support. I will send them an email, probably fall on deaf ears though. But you never know, life is like a box of chocolates, just to coin a famous phrase.

Ok everyone, have just sent an email, I tried to be tactful and disappointed at the same time. I have asked them to give me an explanation and a reply inside the 21 days. So they probably won't.

 

I will see what comes back and update when I know. Fingers crossed.

I will vent here, if I have to, no email today. I am not really expecting one before we go, cause I did say I wanted a response before the 21 days and we leave for Sydney in 18 days. I reckon they will not reply until they have to.

 

But wait!!!!!! I am taking my laptop with me, so I can check whilst in Sydney. HAHA. My bet is that we won't be allocated a cabin assignment til we get on board anyway.
