Past waiter request?

Has anyone ever requested a waiter they had on a previous cruise, knowing that they are going to be on your next ship? The waiter we had on the Triumph last July was transferring to the Celebration. He told us to request him if we decided to cruise on the Celebration...and we are going to be on it in January. How might one go about requesting this? He was wonderful, and we'd love to spend some more time with him. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I would think that the best way to attempt this is to wait until you are on the ship and go see the MD. Since even time and table requests are not very reliably honored I can't imagine that the people who are making your seat assignments have any idea of what part of the dining room your favorite waiter is working in.
