Restaruants around the Miami airport

We will be cruising out of Miami in the spring and are staying at the Holiday Inn Miami-Doral. We have friends who will be staying at the Airport Hotel Regency. The 2 hotels are about 7 miles apart, one on one end of the airport and the other on the other end.

Does anyone know of a nice restaurant in the area where we can meet to have dinner the night before our cruise?

The 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant overlooks the runway of the Miami International Airport. It boasts a fantastic view of the planes taking off and landing. There are headphones available for you to listen to the air traffic ground control and you can see cargo trains pass right in front of your window while you dine. It is located near the intersection of Highway 836 and North Red Road.

The 94th Aero Squadron was going to be my suggestion also. It's laid out interestingly, and the food is quite good. And I really don't think there's any other restaurant near the airport that compares to it.

OK

If you ask for a restaurant at the airport, other than the ones IN the airport, 94th is about your only choice. 94th is also one of the last survivors of a late 70's chain and it shows....and it ain't exactly a Miami classic.

In a hotel at the airport you are about 3 miles from Little Havana ...Now we're talking Miami. You will both be less than 7 miles, just a few dollars by cab from Versailles....one of the most popular Cuban resturaunts in Miami. Not 'tourist Cuban' .... Cuban Cuban :D And any cabbie that can't find it is lyin' thru his teeth....

Want SYSCO steak and taters just like home...and yes, a view of the runway and perhaps a freight train :p , take a cab to 94th.

Want to experience a little Miami / Cuba ?????

Okay, we'll do this one! Gayot says it's kid friendly, so that's the one for us! I wanted to do Cuban, just not sure which one to do. Thanks!
