New Years Eve on the Dawn

there was parties in all the bar & lounges, live music at each of the venues. The biggest party was pool side. Everyone was given hats, noise makers, there was free champagne. It was a optional formal day and approx 75% were dressed up to some degree. At pool side there was hugh ice carvings for each number "2" "0" "0" "7"; however when they were bringing the "2" onto the pool deck they dropped it and it smashed. The rest of the evening I thought we were celebrating the newest Bond film.

All in all it was the best New Years eve party we have been to. Sailing this year on the Gem can't wait. Enjoy the Dawn she is a great ship.

We were on the Pearl last New Year's Eve and it was the best I have ever celebrated. I can't add much to what Lukes told you except to say that because the passengers and especially the crew are so international, in the Atrium they counted down numerous midnights throughout the evening. So, we did several countdowns there and then moved up to the pool deck for the "real" countdown. It was a blast!!!! Enjoy!

I was on the Dawn last year for New Years. Everyone was dressed to the 9s! I was underdressed in a short sequined cocktail dress but it was a 10 day trip out of NYC which could have impacted the attire.

That said, there was a huge party on deck at the pool. They filled one hot tub with chapagne you could buy. They had a 2007 ice sculpture on the ledge. There was a Rockin' NYE ala Dick Clark in the disco. Something was going on in Spinnakers. There was a Guy Lombardo big band kind of a thing (with a smaller # of musicians) in the atrium. I think they had some kind of a trivia contest sing-a-long audience participation sort of event before midnight. The piano bar mid ship near Le Bistro was packed. They shut down the gambling at about 11:55 pm for about 10 minutes & passsed out hats / noisemakers in the casino. The Star Bar was the most mellow, which is why we walked outside to be above the pool party but still part of it.
