Tinknock50 Posted September 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2004 I am planning on not checking any luggage on my solo cruise. Anyone know if I can use a garment bag to put my suit and all my other clothes to carry on to the plane? I will use a knapsack that will fit under the seat for my camera and toiletries, etc.
gliles Posted September 10, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2004 As long as it is no larger than 45 inches total and 40 lbs maximum, that is the limitation on most airlines.
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 10, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2004 You would be wise to check with your airline - personally - not via e-mail. The airlines do not follow the same policy. We have seen people approach the entrance to the ramp with garment bags and were stopped and told that they had to be checked. They gave the people a stub and their garment bags were taken down the ramp, put on the conveyer belt and thrown into the luggage hold.
gliles Posted September 10, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2004 Better yet, check their website and print the information and take it with you, that would be better than asking someone as you can get differing information. If you are on AA, you can trust my answer because I do work there and I looked it up on aa.com to make sure!
Tinknock50 Posted September 10, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted September 10, 2004 Hmm, beginning to think the garment bag is not a good idea. I may just take my usual carryon bag. Never had a problem with that.
