Ship Transfers in Amsterdam

Recommended Posts

My apologies if this has been asked before but the search engine wasn't working.

Our plane arrives in Amsterdam at 6:55 am on the day of departure and we sail at 5:00pm. We are getting Celebrity transfers to the ship. Can we have our luggage taken to the ship, go site seeing and return to the airport to get the transfer for ourselves at a later time? If that's not possible, can we store our luggage at the airport, go site seeing and return to have the transfer bring us and our luggage to the ship.

Thanks for any help.

Good evening,

IMO, just take the transfers, get to the terminal, turn your checked luggage over to the local equivalent of the longshoremen; you'll see them at your door later in the day. Come back later to check-in after your sight seeing.

That way, you're downtown ( the terminal is right behind Centraal Station, the center of downtown) and would only have your ''carry-on'' with you while you go sightseeing....You can even stow those away in the lockers at the Station.

Just my toughts.

Cheers

:)

I've only transferred in Amsterdam once but we put our luggage on a truck and then got on a bus. You could probably hand over your luggage and then take a cab to wherever you wanted to go. As a courtesy, you should mention to the staff that you're going on your own so they won't go looking for you. They might also have some suggestions for the best way for you to get there.

You want to avoid having to go back to the airport. You'd spend most of your day in transit.

IMO, if you can put your luggage on the truck to the ship do so. Then take the airport bus or the local bus into Amsterdam. The airport bus stops across the street from the Marriot. The local bus stops across the small bridge from the Marriot. Save you money why go back and forth from the airport ? Catch one of the Canal tours for a rest will seeing the City from a boat. Amsterdam is very walkable, Just be aware of the bikes.

Have fun,

Bruton Branch:)
