B2B question Caribbean Princess

We are thinking about doing a B2B on the Caribbean for May 4 when they are doing the 3 & 4 day cruises. We have a couple of questions.

1) On B2B cruises do you have to leave the ship and reboard after the first leg? On our last cruise we were talking to a couple that were given their new cruise cards for the next leg before the end of the first trip and did not have to do the embarkation part again.

2) If we are not able to get the same room for both trips would it be our responsibility to transfer our luggage or would Princess do this for us?

We have done B2B's and they are a great way to go.

It is true... they will deliver your next cruise card the day before your first cruise ends. This means you do not have to go through the embarkation part again. What will happen is after the passengers depart from the first cruise, they will probably gather all continuing passengers somewhere (we were gather in the casino). They then lead us off the ship (without luggage) to go through immigration. You do customs (with luggage) at the end of your second leg.

If you can get the same cabin then you will not have to pack / unpack. If you need to change cabins then the crew will show up with one of those "hotel" carts to transport your hanging clothes. You will need to pack what is in drawers into your suitcase(s). They will then transport the hanging clothes and suitcases for you to you new room.

We have done both... staying in the same cabin and moving (in our case from an ocean view to a balcony).

All this is done in the morning ... then you will have the rest of the day to enjoy the ship (pool to yourselves) or head out for the city. If you do leave the ship they will have a separate line for you to reboard without going through the embarkation line because you will already have your cruise card.

I have done B2b's twice. In Ft Lauderdale I walked off hte ship showed my passport and walked back on. In SJ we had to wait an hour to get back on. but the new group was right behind us. I never change rooms-thank god;)
