Separate Sail & Sign Cards?

My friend and I are going together on Carnival. We both dont have enough Credit card limit. Can we put down cash deposit?

Yes you can.

Is it possible to have 2 different sign & sail accounts?

Yes you can. Just copy the blank form that comes with your documents and each one of you fill one out.

How does this work? Is there a min. and max amount cash deposit?

2-4 Day cruises is $100, 5-8 Day cruises is $200 and 9 Day or longer cruises is $350. They will notify you when your account balance is getting low. Just remember that your tips will be taken from this account the first day so that money doesn't last long. Be prepared to either have the tips removed or add extra cash to it.

We will be on the 8 day cruise and will be using cash for the sign & sail. It will be my DH and I only. We do not have a credit card and don't want to use our debit card, The bank wasn't to eager to help.. I think it is due to their computer conversions.

Does this mean it will be $200 per person? Is this the minimum you can put on it?

If there is a balance left how do we get it back?

Can you take cash against it?

Sorry for the questions. I tried the search and it returned over two hundred.

Thanks

Kris

WWAKLA, I was wondering the same thing about the cash deposits. I know that on NCL you put the cash deposits down at the same time you would normally open S&S card at checkin. There is a Purser behind the checkin counter who is called over to take your money and any balance is returned on the last day of the cruise very early in the morning at the credit desk (didn't take but maybe 5 minutes). I was wondering how Carnival handles cash deposits. I do know that it is per person, not per stateroom.

ok so let me get this straight, My DH and I can have one account and my 3 kids can have their own seperate accounts. I plan to give them $50.00 each. That means I would have to make 4 copies of the S&S form? I probably will give my CC and pay cash at the end. I heard I could do that. Right?

Me and two friends shared one room and we each had our own S&S accounts that we put cash down on.. The night before we got off the ship, we went to the purser's desk was was given cash back for the balance. I have heard that they will slip a check under your door early in the morning if you don't do this.

I'll try to answer all of the above questions.

You put your credit card down when you check in. If you want to secure it with cash, you do it only after you board ship at the purser's desk.

For the person asking about the $50 each for their children, in my opinion, you would be further ahead having them on your credit card and have a $50 limit put on it which can be arranged through the purser. You can put up a credit card to open the account, then pay cash at the end to cover it. That way, you don't have to keep going back to add on to it.

Any monies not used in the account will be returned to you the last day of the cruise in a form of a check. I have heard that the casino will cash the check if it's open.

Wwalka, you can use cash from the beginning (no credit card involved). Like you I'm just trying to find out how Carnival sets theirs up initially with cash.

I have used my debit/check card in the past and they put a LARGE hold on it that stayed on until I contacted them (about 1 week) to remove it. The charges (large) had already cleared, that's why I don't want to use that again. Using a credit card is the easiest, but sometimes a large family x 200.00 per person already has used a large amount on their card and just doesn't have that much available (and prefer to use cash). Using a credit card is NOT always an option, even though it may be the best way to do it. Keep wondering why people say use a CC when the people have already stated they can't.

Thank you Helicopter. That is exactly what my bank does with my debit card. Thus I can not use it.

Has anyone ever done their sign and sail with NO credit card at all? And if so how is it handled? I would feel alot better going with a little knowledge>

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

As stated above, you can use cash... without a credit card. We did exactly that... we eventually ran out of cash and went down and put our debit card on file... but you can use cash right up front, when you check in, tell them you are using cash, you will then go to the pursers desk to setup your account. On the last day if there is any cash left over they will give you a check for the balance...
