cruising from NYC in May?

Just looking for some feedback on the Carnival Miracle out of NYC... specifically if anyone has done this cruise in May. How is the weather on the sail down to the Caribbean? Any pros/cons to going in May would be helpful too :)

Hi, we sailed out of NY in April and it was fine. The weather was not bad nor were the seas.

 

We had a wonderful cruise and I am sure you will too!!

We did this run on the Legend three years ago. The first night out is a bit cool, but once you hit the gulf stream the next morning, as long as the conditions are right, you will wake up to a glorious, warm, sun filled day. You will even see the blue Caribbean water, and you are only at the bottom of New Jersey!

Typically, the weather sailing out of NYC in May is fine, especially later in the month. It is usually cooler the first day but by the second day the weather is usually warm.

we had beautiful weather the first week of may 07. I do remember some people saying they were a little seasick, but we don't get seasick. Sunny and warm from the day we left.

I was on the Legend out of NY at the end May 2005. The first full sea day was chilly but the second day was sunny and beautiful (as were the rest of the days). The seas were pretty smooth.

Thanks everyone for all the responses. I'm from Long Island so I'm familiar with the area's weather that time of year, just wasn't sure what it would be like actually sailing down the Atlantic for a few days. Thanks again!

we are sailing on miracle out of nyc may 17th. check the roll call section :-)

 

this will be our 3rd cruise out of NYC and 2nd in may

 

the first day can be a lil cool but generally not cold

can be very windy on deck

 

the seas were a lil rougher then the caribbean but not bad

the secodn day everything is great

We did the NYC Miracle cruise in early June and the weather was great. We had a wonderful cruise although the extra days at sea were rather long.
