ATM on Tahitian Princess

Do they have an ATM that you can use your bank card not your credit card to withdraw USD's and not pay any fees other than what your own bank charges? In other words the bank does all the conversion not Princess.

I do not remember an atm machine on Tahitian princess.

Thanks. I guess I will purchase more USD's If I buy them in travellers cheques I presume that Princess won't charge us for these.

As I am a retired bank employee I get a better rate of exchange and our dollar is going up once again.Ontario Cruiser

You can always call Princess a week before your cruise and order casino credits with your credit card. Those credit coupons can be "cashed" at the casino at no fee.

 

In other words, you are giving an interest-free loan to Princess (in the form of a credit card charge) and getting the coupons when you board. Keep the coupons in your safe and cash them as you need the US$ at the casino.

 

Pay the credit card "loan" back before the cycle closes to pay no interest charges. Use the coupons in lieu of travelers checks so you incur no transaction charges. Keep the coupons in your cabin safe so you don't need to carry a bundle of cash with you through airports.

Never had any problem taking cash myself, just need to keep an eye on it. Will use mostly Credit Card for land purchases.

 

They will not charge you any fee though for cashing travellors checks at the purser's desk.

Also no charge for cashing Traveler's Checks in the casinos on Princess ships.

I realize that there are many ways of obtaining money in FP--easy to do--what is a little more challenging is to get the best exchange rate without too much effort--can make a great difference for post/pre cruise stays--We were lucky enough not to have to cash any travelers checks and only charged one night at the IC Papeete--there was a great range in exchange this trip--none very good--best in Bora Bora ATM
