Valencia,Spain

Recommended Posts

By the time we arrived in Valencia last September, we had been to 12 different ports. We had seen all of the churches, town squares, etc. we wanted to see. So we took a cab from the port to their BEAUTIFUL aquarium complex and spent a pleasant 3 hours. Close to port. Inexpensive cab ride there and back. Entry fee was about 25 USD each.

Last Novemeber we were in Valencia only for 4 hours!! Obviously we didn't have time to do everything. I would have loved to go to the City of Arts and Sciences (where the aquarium is) but decided to concentrate in the old town. It's very nice and compact . The highlight for us was their Central market (Mercado Central), a huge turn of the 20th century building built of iron and glass. The amount fo produce, fish, meats, etc is stagering. I found it more impressive than the Boquería market in Barcelona.

You could probably be a couple of hours in the town and then on the way back to the port stop in the City of Arts and Sciences ( it's not that far from the port).
