We did the BOB excursion last September, in St Thomas, on the Explorer of the Seas. I'm glad I did it, but wasn't very impressed with it. If you have claustrophobic issues at all, don't do it. One lady on our ship just couldn't bring herself to do it. In the bubble, it's hot and not alot of air circulates, which can facilitate claustrophobia. The scooters move sooooo slow. I believe it was a waste of $99. Glad I did it, wouldn't do it again. They take out an entire group, and every body got approx. 30" in the BOB, while the rest snorkels. The bathroom was incredibly smelly. The smell of the BR made me nauseous.

Sorry you didn't have a good experience.

In any case, I loved the BOBs, did them in St. Thomas, and would do them again many times if I could. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/2/OpenTopic?q=Y&s=927093444&a=tpc&m=5543097267&f=709097554

Look through that link. It's about the BOBs and I described the experience in much detail. I think the person above is the first person I've read that didn't love it.

I thought there was a lot of airflow through the bubble- and since half of it was open I didn't feel enclosed at all. I also certainly wouldn't base my experience on the smell of the bathroom, seems a bit silly to mention that.

I think it's a matter of personal opinion, but 99% of people I've read who've done it, have loved it. Good luck!
