Need Help

We booked a Celebrity cruise thru their web site, then transferred it to a TA(to get OBC). We would now like to cancel that cruise and book another Celebrity cruise for a later date. My question is...can I do that thru Celebrity or do I have to do it thru the TA(who I have transferred the old cruise to)? I know I can simply ask either CCL or the TA, but I would just like to hear some expert advice first. Thanks...

I believe you have to do it through the TA.

Once you transfer the booking to the travel agent they are the only ones that can make changes or cancel the booking. Bev

It has to be done through your TA. Make sure they don't have a cancellation fee. It might be worth it to just change the existing booking to the new cruise you want.

Thanks to Gonzo, Twirlgirl and Rick, one more question..If there are no penalties, and I cancelled the cruise with the TA, then booked the new cruise directly with Celebrity, I could always transfer to the TA before final payment, right? The only down side is I would have to wait for the original deposit to be returned, and pay a new deposit to Celebrity for new cruise. This is what I get for transferring to a TA to soon.

Yes, you can always transfer a booking made directly through the cruiseline to whatever TA you want any time before final payment.
