Dawn Princess C535?

Okay, the learning about staterooms the hard way thread has me a little nervous. Has anyone stayed in this room? It looks like it might be above the casino, but I'm not sure it that will be a problem or not. Maybe we should take earplugs.

Testerlady: We were on the opposite side of the ship but same general area (C606) and I don't recall any noise from anything. I'd rather be over the casino than over a bar or theater! I really liked Caribe deck because we had a great view off our balcony when they launched the tenders (OK...it was my first cruise ever and I'm easily impressed)!!

We loved our balcony and sat out on it every day. We especially liked having tea out there in the morning and watching the waves. The balconies are cut out of the hull, which seemed a little weird at first but we were able to get plenty of sun anyway (we did the Mexican Riveria on the Dawn). On our last cruise we had a mini-suite on Dolphin deck of the Grand and that ship has the tiered balconies. Mom and I both agreed we really liked the Dawn balconies better, even if the room was much smaller (we had a balcony too). You'll love her...she's a lovely ship.

We were in C515 once on the Dawn and whenever we were in the bathroom we could hear that lovely sound the slot machines make; at first we thought we were going crazy but then realized that we were close to being right over the casino. Honestly the only time we heard it was in the bathroom and it wasn't that loud - you will be just fine.

We will be in room C 544 and I was wondering the same thing. We will be on the Dawn on July 6th. I know when we were on the Caribe deck in the beginning of May, we could not hear anything from below or above.

I'm glad I asked. While I'm excited about the cruise, I'm a little nervous, too. I think once I'm on the ship, the nervousness will go away. It just because I don't know exactly what to expect and I'm one of those people who likes to plan way ahead.

I know EXACTLY how you feel, Tester. Once I have something to base an experience on I'm fne, but not knowing just how things will happen drives me batty. This board is wonderful for just general information and I'm so glad I found it before our first cruise. It helped me know what to expect and gave lots of tips on things to make the whole experience better. In fact, we sat out our first port because we had no idea how the tenders worked! Luckily we had a shore excursion planned at the next one that forced us to ask a few questions and got us on the right track. I read these boards almost daily even though we don't have any cruises booked. It's almost like being on my own cruise when I read a review!!
