Miracle Family Cruise PartII

Ok day 2 woke up and went to breakfastr in dining room ended up at same table as dinner since so many of us came at same time. Had a nice relaxing breakfast then broguht DD to cam carnival. This is when we learned of the first problemfrom check in, The CC staff said that there was no record of our daughter on the ship, and asked us to bring her passport and check with pursers desk. after going back to cabin to get PP DD stayed and we went to pursers desk. Somehow at check in DD's last name got chaned to FIL's , maybe since she was booked in his room?. so we got that fixed and her reassigned to our room for tips and all. NExt we tried to go up to pools but it was way too windy for our liking. Decided instead on going to the port talk. We had already booked our excursions through the carnival online before boarding so it was a little unneccesarry but gave us our first impressions of cruise staff since we missed the welcome aboard party.

 

It was time for lunch so we picked up DD and went to DR we generally try to eat as many meals as possible in the DR. had a great Mongolian Steak salad. We were again at our dinner table, this time the Ast Maitre'd recognized me on the way in and asked if we wanted it.

 

After lunch we took DD back to CC and headed up to our Meet and Greet we go tthere a lil late and were happy to see a large circle of friends already chitchatting away. was great to finally meet some people in person and talk without having to wait for replies. AS we ordered our DOD i got a slip from the BArstaff saying we needed to goto Pursers desk there was a problem with our S&S. So after an hour or so the group started to break up a abit and we headed down to see what was going on with S&S. Well here was a big surprise there was no card on record for our S&S after the girl swiped it like 5 times at check in she somehow never saved.

 

as it was approaching 4 we headed back to CC to get DD and prepare for Captains Cocktail party and formal dinner. We learned that getting 2 1/2 yo into a formal dress is not something doen quickly lol. we missed the cocktail party but got some great pictures of her in her red gown everyone seemed to stop and say how beautiful she looked:D Had a hard time fiting my head into DR was so swelled with pride.

 

Formal dinner was excellent and everyone we saw was dressed appropriately My customary order of 2 Prime ribs ( allergic to shellfish) came out medium rare as ordered and DW's Lobster was far better then on Voyager OTS and Victory which were both nearly inedible. I had to talk her into ordering lobster again the past 2 experiences were so bad. This time however she surprised me and ordered a second helping!!

 

After dinner we went back and changed into more comfortable clother for the show Generations which was entertaining and took us through the end of our night as DD fell asleep about half way through ( she can sleep through anything) DW took DD up to room and i went to lounge bar and got a couple of drinks which DW and I shared in lounge chairs on our balcony a great finish to a wonderful day at sea.

 

On a side note this was the second night which DD went to sleep without a "binkie" which was "lost" when we got on the ship:D . this may have been the highlight of the cruise for us as she hasn't needed on since

 

We woke up on the second seas day a little early since DD doesn't understand that vacation means you can sleep in. We all met for breakfast again in the DR and had a great start to our day. Today everyone kinda did their own thing it was still a little windy up on deck but we toughed it out lol. spent sometime in the art auction, didn't buy anything but enjoyed seeing some of works and seeing people get amped up about the bidding. When bringing DD back to CC there was a boy there crying and DD is very sensitive to other kids crying and she eventually lost it, but DW and staff were able to get her clamed down to the point where she stayed and had another great time.

 

I honestly forget what we did between lunch and dinner this day so I apologize.

 

For Dinner I had the short ribs which were good but not great possibly the most dissapointing meal of the trip but again not bad just not as good as others. The show this evening was a lady who's name i forget that did vocal singing impressions of many various artists. she was very talented and entertaining. A few of her impressions were a reach but many if you closed your eyes would be hard to tell it wasnt the actual artist. DD again fell asleep so i took her back to the room a lil before the show ended.

 

DW came to room a little while after and was tired so she went to bed and i went to casino. there wasn't much going on at the pokerpro table so i went to let it ride for abit was up and down mostly down till a good run at the end put me up about 50 then i saw a group forming at the poker table and went over. Now i really don't like the computerized table at all but since its the only poker on board. I started with 60 and walked away a few hours later with 400. Play was friendly but for the most part pretty weak, I played a few other sessions during the 8 days and almost paid off my S&S. The best part was that there was no smoking which I am used to from foxwoods and was worried about since on Victory there was smoking at the pokerpro table.

ok so usually i can figure out the abbreviations but I just can't figure out what DW stands for. Please help. :confused:

 

Oh and we were also on this cruise and from CT as well. We had a blast! Great review.
