We have taken 2 ctn's, one on the Spirit and loved it. My only tip is to realize that because it is a 1-nighter, people are trying to do everything so venues are more crowded. So, allow lots of time for your meal before the show (if you intend to go) or plan for dinner after the show. We arrived a bit late, and seating was a problem. I understand that Cagney's gets very crowded on teh 1-nighters and service can suffer. As much as I love Cagney's, we have not chosen it for etiher ctn. On our cinqo de mayo cruise, we chose the mexican restaurant - which given the occasion we thought would be popular, but it was practically empty and as a result we had fantastic service. Our other ctn we chose Teppanyaki. I personally feel that Teppanyaki on the Spirit is not as good as on NCL's other ships, so while I am sure there are those who disagree with me, I would stear you away from there. You will have a great time!

Hi all38. I'm just down the road from Schenectady, in Albany. We've been on several one nighters and we enjoy them. As Bermuder says they get pretty active. The casino also gets really busy along with the restaurants. I would try and get there about an hour before the scheduled boarding time because they usually start loading a bit earlier then scheduled. I am also not in a big rush to get off the ship the following morning. If the ship docks around 7 AM we can usually stay on till around 10:30. Makes for a nice relaxing morning with a slow breakfast. You can also then go around the ship and check out some of the other cabins for future reference. Is this going to be out of NY City?

Have done one nighters on the Dawn and Spirit. It is one big party, everyone having a great time. If you go with a party attitude you will have a ball.

We;re going to do it again this year on the Spirit in October.

we tend to party some, if we can stay awake after 10pm. we are usually at the pier to board around lunch time. Can't stay up too late if we want to walk around nyc the next day, so we start early, about ...5 minutes after we board. Do they usually have the pools opened in mid sept?

Yes, cruise ship's pools are open year 'round as long as the weather and seas are nice.
