car rental companies with shuttle to port in Miami

Recommended Posts

Haven't experienced it but Enterprise and Alamo say they do. Alamo has a shuttele and Enterprise will drop you off in the rental car. I am going to try one of them in a few weeks and see how it goes.

I used Dollar last year and they had a shuttle to and from the Port of Miami.

I just called the Miami Airport location of National Car Rental and the agent told me that they do not pick up at the pier.
Can someone tell me what a cab would cost from the pier to National (I believe that they are offsite)?

Avis has a free shuttle from the airport to the port in Miami. Very quick...no waiting...we flew into Ft Lauderdale, returned to Miami, before we sailed then picked up in Miami and dropped on in Ft Lauderdale on the way out. Airfare was significantly less into Ft Lauderdale!

Have done the same thing as dana77389 but with Hertz. They also have a free shuttle to (and from) the Port of Miami at it's return facility near MIA Airport.

I believe they run ON the hour. We are usually there in time to catch the 10am shuttle to the Port. Takes approx. 15 minutes to get there.

I've never taken a taxi but heard it's about $20 to and from MIA Airport

Hertz has a free shuttle from airport to their parkinglot, where you pick up your car. When returning the car, they credit $10,- off your credit card and get the money in cash. Hertz arranges a cab to the pier for you and you pay the driver with your own money! It's not free at all in Miami downtown.

Hello:
Thank you to all of you once again GREAT info., perfect responses - we are flying into Ft. Lauderdale too, driving to see the inlaws in Ft. Myers then driving to Miami, perfect drop off the car - shuttle to the pier, back to car rental then drive to ft. lauderdale back home, traveling w/ 2 adults and 3 kids, much cheaper to rent a car and drive to airport than shuttle or cab for 5. This is what we did last year from Orlando to Pt. Canaveral, worked perfectly we used the Dollar location in Cocoa Beach, GREAT no hassle. Thanks again, I'll make my reservations today.

We just got off of the Triumph on March 27th---and had a Hertz car reserved in Miami. To our surprise, they did NOT have a shuttle to the port of Miami. They claimed it was 'post 911' procedure. (On our Princess cruise in May 2003, we DID take a Hertz shuttle...so this was a surprise to me.)

So, we hired a taxi, and they reimbursed us, however, they agreed to do so before hand. I'd say call your rental car agency to make sure before you get to the pier.
