Beachgator Posted June 25, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2008 For the first time, my wife and I are considering a back to back booking on the same ship for our next cruise. However, it has been a nightmare trying to find the same room available on both legs of the trip. Our preference would be to stay in the same room rather than pack and relocate to another. If anyone has any experiences, tips or links that would be helpful in our effort, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your input. Fblack Posted June 25, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2008 We did a Constellation b2b in April. We had to move our cabin. It's not that hard. We just put everything in the suitcases and the cabin attendant moved them. They took the hanging cloths right on the hangers. Took about 15 minutes. Not a big deal. PurpleCow Posted June 25, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2008 We have 2 B2Bs booked (through our travel agent) and have the same cabins on both legs of both trips. I will say that we booked very close to when the itineraries were released.
Karynanne Posted June 25, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 25, 2008 If you have to move to another cabin, your cabin attendant will help with this process. It's not difficult at all.
SheilaNC Posted June 25, 2008 #5 Share Posted June 25, 2008 AND, if you're anything like us, things get messy after a few days. Soooo...moving means starting over with a spotless cabin and organizing things exactly where you want them, not where they ended up after a week or two in a cabin. FYI, we thought we were moving and packed up everything except the hanging things - then found out that we could stay in the same cabin afterall. After a bit of grumbling, I relaxed, put things away neatly and felt like we were starting a new cruise. Nice!
ninkb Posted June 25, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 25, 2008 Back to back cruises are wonderful!!! You know the ship and crew; you get twice the fun. Even if you have to change cabins, it will be worth it. We had a B2B on the Galaxy in Jan-Feb and loved it. We booked about 6mo. out and were able to stay in the same cabin. Celebrity gave precise instructions of what to do on change-over day and all went smoothly. I'd do it again, given a chance. So go ahead. Book it, whatever your cabin arrangement has to be. You can always ask to be wait-listed for the same cabin on the second leg of the cruise. :) ninkb
Fblack Posted June 25, 2008 #7 Share Posted June 25, 2008 One oddity happened to us and several others who had to change cabins during a b2b. You cannot move until the new cabin is cleaned and ready. So around 10:00AM they said we could move. But the ship accounts and records have not changed over yet. So we could not get room keys until around 1:00PM when all the new info is entered into their computers. So for a few hours, we had to find the cabin attendant whenever we needed access to the new room.
blondie1746 Posted June 27, 2008 #8 Share Posted June 27, 2008 Don't most b2b cruises have the same itinerary and entertainment for both weeks? We enjoy going to the shows and wouldn't want to see the same stuff for both weeks. Same thing for not wanting to visit the same ports 2 weeks in a row. Or do you book your b2b cruises when the ship is changing itineraries or doing a repo?

Or do you book your b2b cruises when the ship is changing itineraries or doing a repo? The two B2Bs we have booked are not the same itineraries. The first is a TA that then goes to Scandinavia and Russia and the second is a 7 day Med cruise that then sails to Miami. As far as the shows, I like the fact that we don't have to get to every show on each voyage in order to see them all. Especially after a long day in port and late seating dinner, I'm usually ready for bed.

Beachgator Posted June 28, 2008 Author #12 Share Posted June 28, 2008 LOL! You're right! Can't see the ship Growing wheels. :D PurpleCow, we were considering the b2b on the Connie (April-May 09) as you've booked, but were a little concerned that it might be a little early to cruise the Baltic. Have you any input on general weather conditions in the Baltic for early May?
