Chadm Posted April 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2004 ..... I mean beside the obvious. Of course we'll have a bigger room, balcony, and great location, but are there any other perks like separate check-in or other stuff like that? We just booked a grand oceanview suite on the Grandeur of the Seas and I'm curious as to what we can look forward to. Thanks in advance for all your answers. Chadm Posted April 8, 2004 Author #2 Share Posted April 8, 2004 **bump** Come on guys, I know there are some of you that have stayed in a suite that can give me some insight here. Thanks again.
serene56 Posted April 8, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2004 Since I cruised Royal they have reassessed their cabins. I know a "C" suite wasnt enititled to some benifits and it was only for B & A holders. You get the concierge service plus early check in. fireguy091 Posted April 8, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2004 The concierge service is only on the Voyager and Radiance class ships. I believe on the other ships it's mostly just a nicer room Serenade 10/30/03 Destiny 6/02 Monarch 5/99 Holiday 4/98 Tropical 6/95 Asure Seas 3/93 Asure Seas 5/91 Holiday 3/88 Ms Southward 5/
nrdsb4 Posted April 8, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2004 Don't know about the other classes, but on Voyager class there is priority check in for suites. Look for the sign inside the terminal. No special disembarkation, however. We also had special goodies delivered to our suite every afternoon: chocolate covered strawberries, little sandwiches, cookies, etc. Concierge service as well. Lonesloane Posted April 8, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 8, 2004 When we sailed the Majesty of the Seas last May, we were in a Cat. C suite, now known as a Grand Suite. We did not receive any perks other than the room size. However, when we sailed Enchantment of the Seas this past March we were in the Owners Suite and did. Basically, hor'doerves or fresh fruit every night. Majesty of the Seas 5/19/03 Enchantment of the Seas 3/6/04 Majesty of the Seas 3/7/
Lonesloane Posted April 8, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 8, 2004 Also, on the Enchantment we did get to Embark in a separate line. But not on the Majesty. Majesty of the Seas 5/19/03 Enchantment of the Seas 3/6/04 Majesty of the Seas 3/7/
madforcruising Posted April 8, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 8, 2004 The old cat. C is now the JS - Junior Suite. A GS - Grand Suite is the old Cat. B. On Vision class ships there is no concierge but you´ll have an extra line at embarkation. I see there are still 4 available.. I know that you get the extra snacks in the room each evening, special check in line, special tender tickets, and the concierge will book ur ice shows, portofino dinners, rock climbing times..etc.., also you can get dvds and cds to enjoy in your room! -Diahndra
sdwilson Posted April 8, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 8, 2004 We have a Cat. JS Suite on the AOS on May 2. Will we have any special perks, like boarding or concierge? We had the same on the Splendour of the Seas, but nothing was special about having a suite on that ship. I was just wondering? BaliChic Posted April 9, 2004 #15 Share Posted April 9, 2004 DocnJersey, www.travelocity.com and hit the cruise search link- Then you enter search details that will match your cruise, when you find your cruise, hit RESERVE- Then they ask you for how many people, where your nearest airport is, enter that and hit CONTINUE- They have something called an INTELLIDECK where you pick your stateroom. Just choose the category you want and they'll have blinking arrows shown on a deck plan on which rooms are still available. I hope this helped! Enjoy your cruise! -Diahndra
cfurry Posted April 9, 2004 #16 Share Posted April 9, 2004 The junior suites basically are like a larger balcony cabin. As stated above, you do get express check-in, which is nice, and you tend to be one of the first groups called when leaving the ship. Chocolates on our pillows at night, but I think that's standard. There was a minibar, but we didn't use it as we don't drink. No concierge service, no butler service, none of that. But to be honest, we were happy as clams. It was a great cabin. I'm sure you'll have an excellent time. Safe travels, cfurry
Mark_K Posted April 9, 2004 #17 Share Posted April 9, 2004 If you're a C&A member, you also get credit for two cruises with a JS (or higher). ---------------------------------------------------------- "Nothing so needs reforming as other people's habits" Mark Twain "Nothing so needs reforming as other people's formal night attire, poolside attire, child rearing practices, walk-talkie usage, chair hogging, seat saving, line cutting ..."
