ecclectic-eccentric Posted July 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2008 Long story short, we're using some free airline tix to get to Miami, but the airline was rather difficult about which flights we could book, so we're arriving at Miami later than I would have liked. Our flight is scheduled to arrive at 12:55 p.m. on the day of sailing (5pm sail, have to be on the ship by 4pm). Would we be better off catching a taxi to the dock or booking a transfer through NCL? (Eg., if our flights are delayed, if we've booked a transfer will they give us some leeway on that 4pm deadline?) Does anybody know what cab fare usually runs from the airport to the dock and how long it takes? Thanks for any input! ee
Bocadude85 Posted July 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2008 Well the Miami airport is a little ways inland and with Miami traffic Id say probably 30 mins to the port.. cab fare I cant help you with as I just drive to the port from home.
Rare Keith1010 Posted July 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2008 I would go with the cab. You are taking a risk flying in the day of your cruise and in the afternoon to boot. There really is not an advantage using the cruise transfers. If your plane is way late it's your responsibility. Keith
ecclectic-eccentric Posted July 18, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted July 18, 2008 I appreciate the info. Yes, I realize we're taking a chance, but our schedule is so darned tight, there's not much of an alternative for us. We're just hoping and praying that all goes smoothly (oh and we bought the insurance, too. At least if our flight is 3 hours late we get compensated somehow.) Bequia Posted July 19, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 19, 2008 Cabs a flat rate of $24 for the 20 minute ride to the port. You'll be fine.
