What time do the gates REALLY open?

We are leaving from the Port of Miami on a Sunday. The ship departs at 4pm and NCL says check-in is from 1pm to 3pm. This is my first time cruising with NCL. On other lines we've been able to board earlier than the 1pm stated time. Is this true with NCL? If yes, then when do the boarding agents really begin processing?

Thanks

Andy

But there are some people who come to sit and wait in the terminal area as early as 9 AM. Last cruise out of Miami (Jewel) as we were diembarking at that time, folks for the next cruise were already waiting! I guess they could have been there for hours!

We usually arrive about 10:30 AM - boarding can start as early as 11 AM or 11:30AM. It all depends upon how quickly the ship clears and the passengers disembark.

On our recent Dawn (NY to Bermuda) we arrived at the terminal at 10:15, were escorted to the suite pax area, and were called to board about 11:20.

On our last cruise we left from New York and we live in New York, We arrived at about 11:00 it was a little crazy because there were people waiting for taxi's and people trying to get the luggage in the terminal. If you were new to this you had no idea what was going on you could get yelled at like we did. We came in with our luggage and was sent back to the front of the terminal to drop off the luggage.

This time we are flying into Miami the morning of the cruise. Our flight lands at 10:50 so I am guessing as soon as we get our luggage and get the car are getting we should be getting there by noon.

I think if you get there by 11:00 you should be good with not too much waiting.
