I will be going on the Century in January (Eastern Caribbean). Any suggestions for excursions in St. Thomas or St Maarten? I am usually a Royal Caribbean cruiser but I convinced my husband to go on Celebrity, hopefully, I won't regret it!!!

I was one of the smoking complainers. I agree that everything on the boards often seems exaggerated. I almost cancelled our first Celebrity cruise because of a few threads I read here. People were being really nasty to one another over children on cruises and inappropriate clothing. I thought everyone was going to be just as rude on the cruise. Everyone was wonderful. When people have something that really gets to them, they use message boards to vent about it... myself included.

I think the smoking on our most recent cruise was worse than others due to the fact that since it was colder and we spent more time inside. The casino was unusually bad. On our Bermuda cruise, I did not notice it as much. It was probably 5 times as bad on the transatlantic as on the Bermuda run. Some have suggested that it was also due to the number of Europeans on our cruise. You should be fine. Have a great time!

Suggestions for excursions would depend on what you like to do. My DH and I like to be in, on, or around the ocean, so my suggestions would be something like this:

St. Thomas: Either take a ferry over to St. John and hit a beach there, or do a catamaran or sailboat sail to St. John to snorkel, or scuba dive, or go to Magen's Bay on St. Thomas.

St. Maarten: I happen to love Orient Beach, so that would be my first recommendation. I've also heard that the Golden Island Sail is fabulous, and definitely want to try that some day. There are some really nice beaches on St. Maarten that you could go to besides Orient Beach too.

My DW and I are cruising on the Millennium on 12/05. Casa de Campo list a Bayahibe Beach Break. Does anyone know what this includes? $36.00 seems a little high for just a ride to beach and a chair. Is this all inclusive?

Thanks for any input

My Dh and I were there in March and took this excursion, DH LOVED IT. We are going back in November and MUST do it again, the crew was fantastic, they served us anything we wanted and fed us lunch on the way back with music and dancing,we had alot of fun.

This is one excursion not to be missed.
