luv2cruisewl Posted August 27, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2008 Prepaid Gratuities and Onboard Credits-- Who actually pays for those promotions? Is it the cruise line or the agency? If you have already booked and then those incentives appear the next few days, are you out of luck? Thanks for your input.
Rare Keith1010 Posted August 27, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2008 It will vary. Sometimes it comes out of your TA's commission and other times it comes from the cruise line. Many times the cruise lines provide these benefits to large travel consortiums, who in turn provide them to their TA, to recognize the large volume of bookings that they give to the cruise lines. If you see a promotion after you book followup with your TA. Keith
cb at sea Posted August 27, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 27, 2008 It depends on who offers them to you! If you book through a TA, and the TA offers them, then it is coming out of their commission. Don't worry--they won't "give" you something that they can't afford!
Hamburg Avon Lady Posted August 27, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2008 Always, always ask!! The worse case scenerio is "Sorry, you don't qualify". Also, keep checking to see if your cabin catagories go down in cost - sometimes you can get a price adjustment even after final payment has been made. ;)
