lrcruising Posted October 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2004 Does anyone know what the 2 alternate restaurants are on the Grand? How about the costs? I thought there was a steakhouse for $20 a person and a mexican restaurante for $8 a person. If you know, please tell me. Thanks.
YOW Posted October 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 25, 2004 Sabatini's is one. They're supposed to be taking out the southwestern/tex-mex place and installing a Sterling Steakhouse shortly.
melissa_bel Posted October 25, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2004 Sabatini's,the Italian restaurant, is $20. The SouthWestern restaurant, The Painted Desert, is $8 BUT it's going to be there for long, it's supposed to be replaced by Stearling Steakhouse ($15). I don't know when though. Rare Paula_MacFan Posted October 25, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 25, 2004 I believe the Painted Desert is going to be replaced with Sterling Steakhouse during the 'wet dock' the first week of November. We are sailing on the Grand's inaugural cruise from Galveston 11/08, and I was told by Princess rep the MUTS, steakhouse, and various other 'upgrades/enhancements' would be ready then. thepocketrockett Posted October 25, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 25, 2004 We ate in both restaurants - Painted Desert and Sabatini's when we were on the Grand last October. Both were very good - especially Sabatini's which is a very special place. Loads of food - especially the appetizers at the beginning of the meal which fill you up and the bread. Bring a healthy appetite! The Painted Desert is somewhat more casual and not the amounts of food - much more inexpensive too - $8 as opposed to $20 per person.
