Something about charging for prime steaks

I heard something on the news, only caught a bit of it, but I seemed to hear that Royal Carib will be charging for prime cuts of steak in its dining rooms.

Anyone else out there hear about it? If so, please clarify.

Why don't you check the Royal Caribbean forum? :confused:

 

There is a whole article about this in the News section of Cruise Critic too.

 

The short recap is that they won't be "charging for steaks"; the steaks that have always been on the menu are still there at no extra cost. They have added one extra menu item, a premium steak, at a surcharge. It is a pilot, and there is no word yet if this will be continued (rolled out fleet wide) or discontinued.

 

More importantly, it is RCI only and not X.

Pretty soon we all will have to bring our own food abaord..

 

Maybe at least that way there will be MUCH BETTER QUALITY..

 

AS RCL: NYSE in all there lines has gone down many steps in quality, quantity, selection/variety and presentation.

PS: The steaks in the main dining rooms have NOT Been PRIME for quite a while!

On our last cruise on the Summit, the only enjoyable steak was in the Specialty Restaurant. The steak served in the Dining Room was one step above shoe leather, and I order it medium rare.:eek:

The steak in the dining room they are charging for is supposed to be one of premium steaks from the Specialty restaurants...
