Can Garment Bags be used as carry-on bag?

Thanks for the information. I would think that garment bags would be over the limit size wise and never was able to get mine to fold in half anyway!

What kind of garment bags are we speaking of??? The leather or plastic ones which are more like suit covers/dress covers, are fairly flexible, and SHOULD fold in half. Or one with or without wheels which are like suitcases.

The suitcase ones cannot be taken onboard. Too large

The soft ones-wait until everyone is seated and luggage is in the overheads. THEN lay your garment bag flat on top of everyone's bags. Or be the first to board and lay it out flat on the bottom of the overheads. Any other way and you may as well just have stuffed your dresses/suits in your suitcase. They will end up VERY wrinkled if they are not laid out flat. Coach passengers are generally restricted from using the closets.

I know this has been discussed many times but I can't seem to find it now that I need the answer!

Can you take a garment bag on as a carry-on bag? We're are flying NWA.

Thanks!

Tammy

Here, from their website.....measure your garment bag to see if it fits inside the dimensions shown:
