Med cruise in March

We are interested in Egypt and eastern Med cruise on Brilliance of the seas for March 09. We would be travelling with our kids 9 and 8 years old.

 

Wondering if that is a good time to go with them.

 

They are good cruisers but it has been warmer temp.

 

Thought it might be a good time to sightsee not to warm.

 

Any input would be great.

I think it is a great time. There will be fewer crowds and the weather will be very comfortable.

 

I did Italy in late March and the weather was perfect for sight-seeing. Greece and Turkey are on the same lattitude respectively- so it will be fine.

Rebeccalouise, I see that this past summer you did British Isles and Greece, we will celebrate our 30th next summer and want to take cruise with our 13 and 16 yr old sons (have been on several cruises), Love to get your feedback, how was the weather , not big humidity fans, thanks

I would ask the question how long can your kids hold up on a tour? The tours from Alexandria to the Cairo and the Pyramids are very, very long. Also, do you want to have access to the ship's pools and sit out in the warm sun? My own preference would be to go a bit later and maybe pick a cruise with a multiple day visit to Egypt.

 

BTW - Brilliance of the Seas is a great ship with lots of activties for kids.

This is actually a good time to visit these ports because the weather is comfortable and there are far fewer tourists. In the summer, these same places are not only very crowded but with the temperature high along with the humidity it can make touring challenging for both the children and the adults.

Let's put it this way, Athens has been known to have temperatures of 114 in the summer!!!!!

 

Wish we could get the kids out of school for 2 weeks in March to go then!
