lastlook Posted November 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2008 I am going to order a monogrammed bathrobe as a gift and wonder about the sizes. I need to order one for a female who is about 5 feet tall and a bit round. I was going to order a large, but if they are unisex sizes, perhaps a medium would be better? Also, please advise regarding drinking water onboard. I plan to bring wine and champagne onboard, but wonder if I should also bring a case of bottled water, or just bring a water bottle to fill from the tap? Thanks much for your advice (first time cruiser on HAL - Eurodam.)
Krazy Kruizers Posted November 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2008 Sorry -- can't answer your question about the robes -- never ordered one. The water on board the ship is great!!! Even better than the water we get at home. No reason to bring your own water.
sail7seas Posted November 12, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 12, 2008 Drinking water on the ships is more pure and IMO tastes better than most of the bottled water people lug along with them. I drink lots of water daily and have always marveled how good it is straight out of the tap. The robes on HAL are pretty much one size fits most. I think I have heard they have smaller ones for very petite people but it sounds as though the person you want to buy it for might be short and the smaller size would be good but if she is very round, it might not be wide enough for her. If you could estimate her waist size, it might be possible to give a better answer.
funlovin'cruiser Posted November 12, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2008 The robes only come in 3 sizes - childrens OSFM, adults OSFM and adult XXXL (which is HUGE).
lastlook Posted November 12, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted November 12, 2008 Pardon my density, but what is OSFM? I think she would be about 36" or so in the waist and is short (maybe a hair under 5 feet.) Thanks for all the replies and I'm so glad about the drinking water - I'll just bring my SIGG!! Boytjie Posted November 12, 2008 #6 Share Posted November 12, 2008 Pardon my density, but what is OSFM? One Size Fist Most, I would guess.

ellbelle Posted November 13, 2008 #10 Share Posted November 13, 2008 If you choose to purchase the bottled water in your room, they are reasonably priced. I seem to remember from our Alaska Cruise, they were only $3.50 per bottle (plus tip). Crystal Geyser, about 24 oz. Cheryl
