Kiwi Kruzer Posted November 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2004 Has any one heard more about these exciting cruises? From the net....... "Holland America Line will position the Statendam in Australia at the end of 2005 for a series of six 14-day cruises between Australia and New Zealand." "Holland America Line are bringing the Statendam to Sydney. She will be sailing from San Diego 17 November 2005 and arrive into Sydney 05 January 2006 cruising via Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Easter Island, Tahiti, Tonga and New Zealand. She will then commence a series of Sydney to New Zealand and return cruises." "Carrying more than 1,200 passengers, the Statendam will make six cruises visiting Australian and New Zealand ports, with itineraries expected to be released December 2." Aussie Gal Posted November 10, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2004 Hi Dave, It was printed on the HAL board a couple of days ago. The Statendam is a lovely ship and it will be great that she will be here for awhile. As you know we are HAL fans but I would rather sail on them away from Australia. We like the more international mix of people, though it would be a great holiday, to sail from Australia to New Zealand and then pick up a car and do the South Island. We will keep it in mind. DougH Posted November 14, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2004 I sailed on the Prinsendam several years on this route and loved the cruise. Hopefully they can fill the Statendam as we had on'y about 450 passemgers on our cruise. Having the bigger ship would be nice. Doug
