Stateroom below the Spa

Oh no! We just booked a cruise for 2010 on the Dream. We got an interior spa cabin and on the deck plan I just realized our room is right below the weights of the spa. Can someone who has had one of these rooms tell me if there was a noise problem from the weights or was it tolerable?

Since she isn't sailing yet, I doubt anyone has had one of those cabins. ;)

But I think I've read (on the Cabin Selection board) that some people have been beneath the exercise room on other ships and had issues with noise (from people dropping the weights, to the thumping on the treadmills, etc.). If you're under the treatment rooms or sauna, you probably won't hear a sound.

I personally don't want a cabin that far forward, although I booked one on Victory. I specifically did NOT pick one on a higher deck because you just never know. I took one that's above another passenger deck and below the bridge. I think I'd probably NOT select one under the exercise room.

I just have to ask....You said you did not pick a higher deck because "you never know"..... I can't figure out for the life of me what could happen. :o I chose a forward room on the Panorama deck for my next cruise.

What's the potential of it being a bad choice?

Thanks in advance for your opinion.

Hi all,

Back in December 2007, my husband and I had a forward cabin on the Panorama deck of the Liberty and it was hands down the best cabin location we've had thus far. We were directly under the sauna area of the spa, so as you can imagine, it was very quiet. Plus, since we were so far forward, the hall traffic was very light. Honestly, I think the only complaint we had was the constant slamming of balcony doors. The doors are very heavy so if you didn't hold the door when closing it, it would slam pretty loudly. Of course, that has nothing to do with the location of the cabin, but rather the people in the cabin next to you.

Anyhow, to answer the question: I've seen several negative threads about the noise under the weight/treadmill area of the gym. If your cabin is located directly under this area, I would definitely look into moving. The sound of weights dropping or the constant thumping of a treadmill at 6 am does not sound relaxing to me .

Whatever you decide, have a great cruise!!

Thanks for the input. we switched this afternoon the opposite side, so now under the steam rooms and ladies locker room which will be better I think, especially since i think the gym hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
