Whoey Posted January 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2009 Hi, Can someone please tell me how much the following are: Soft Drink regular - like glass of coke or lemonade. Lemon Lime Bitters - often this is more then a regular soft drink. Light beer on tap Heavy beer on tap Glass of Wine - regular wines. Cocktail prices - specifically is there a Cocktail of the Day and if so how much is this Spirit - regular shot with coke or whatever. 2 other quick questions, are the power points right connectors for AUS plugs or do we need travel adaptors? Secondly, does the laundry equipment take our coins? thanks!
Ela 2 Posted January 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2009 Ho Whoey, The electrical connections are Aussie. Take a powerboard or at least a double adaptor. Drinks - We bought bottles of wine that cost us around A$25. Peter bought some cans of beer, but isn't sure of the price. Can't help you with prices on the other drinks. You probably know that on Princess ships each person can take a litre bottle of wine (or champagne) on board. We had a 2 litre cask of wine in our suitcase, and could have had two bottles in our hand luggage. We didn't. At each port of call you can wine back on board if you wish. This is for consumption in your cabin. If you take it into the dining room you will have to pay a corkage fee.:):) Evon.

Secondly, does the laundry equipment take our coins? thanks! Cans of softdrink are available - cans are smaller size then here and are around the same price or a little more expensive than here. We usually buy the soda card which works our more economical for us. Glasses of wine are around $5-6 for house - we usually buy a bottle for dinner every night. Prices are comparable to restaurants here. Good selection of Chilian and American wines as well as Aussie ones. Don't drink beer so can't help you there. Spirits are reasonable. Can't quite remember but they are around the same as pubs here but the spirits are usually better quality. Normal electricity plugs. They have converted them all over. Coins for the laundry are quarters. Go to the pursers desk and you can buy them from there. - mummsie
Whoey Posted January 12, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted January 12, 2009 Thanks everone for the info, those prices are about what I expected. If the laundry uses american quarters then I wont bother taking Aus coins :)
tassie cruiser Posted January 12, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 12, 2009 We just got back from Dawn Princess, have been told everything identical to Sun Princess, out of Australia. Beer was 6.50, wine similar. Laundry takes $1.00 coins only (Aus) for the washing machines and dryers, good luck trying to use though. On Dawn Princess there was a laundramat on each floor but was a tiny room and had 2 washing machines and 2 dryers, 1 iron and board. on other decks one of them would always be out of order and everyone went to other floors. We gave up and did in our room, hung up everywhere and they dried overnight.
tassie cruiser Posted January 12, 2009 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2009 forgot to say make sure you take a power board, there is only one powerpoint and it is just under tv, so not even in bathroom, so if you have hair straightners,etc...or any other girly things or camera chargers, phone chargers etc.. powerboards on cruises are a must.. Whoey Posted January 12, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted January 12, 2009 power board is already on my packing list.. I think $6.50 for a beer I would rather a glass of wine at that price. thanks !

Whoey and do not forget you can take a little BYO vino on board SP. Makes it even cheaper than $6.50 a glass. We each took a 2 litre cask of vino on board SP, around OZ last year, no probs.
