HA and disembarking in Copenhagen

Be aware that the Danes may refer to Freeport as "Freihavn" or something like that. When we embarked from there on the Westerdam in 2005, our taxi driver, who was from Turkey, had never heard of "Freeport." Fortunately I know Norwegian, so I recognized the sign that said "Freihavn" and, of course, the beautiful Westerdam waiting for us.

Thanks, yes. I do know that but unfortunately found it out too late. But the taxi company didn't question it when I made my booking, which makes me think that they probably figured it out. I will reconfirm closer to the date though.

Taxi and Limo drivers in most cities seem to magically know these sorts of things - I think it has to do with the fact that they're called upon to do this quite often, most ports post signs stating which ship is at which pier...

...and a big ship is kinda hard to miss.

Last July our cabbie had a schedule of which ship was at which dock which day. We simply asked the hotel front desk staff to call a cab to take us to the Eurodam. No prior arrangements at all.

Our cabbie was a hoot - quite the Viking! :)
