goldencruiser Posted February 2, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2009 I need a recommendation. We are arriving into MIA airport around midnight and cruising the next morning out of Miami. Would you stay at an airport hotel or a downtown hotel or somewhere else? Do any of the downtown hotels have an airport shuttle? Do you know how much a cab from a hotel near the airport would cost? Thanks for all your great help.
JohninDC Posted February 2, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 2, 2009 If you are arriving that late I'd opt for an airport hotel with free shuttle service. Sleep in and enjoy breakfast the next morning. Cab fare to the POM is a flat rate of $24 + tip. The Hampton Inn is near a small shopping center with a grocery store in case you need last minute cruise supplies that will not travel well on an airplane. Check out other threads on this board and read reviews at trip advisor before you book anything. Good luck!:)
BobKat406 Posted February 2, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 2, 2009 We are staying at Embassy Suites (Miami Airport). They have an airport shuttle that will pick you up and do offer a cruise package that includes transport to the port for a fee. However, I did check on a private shuttle that worked out to be less than what they charged. (there are 6 of us though). They also offer free breakfast. eandj Posted February 2, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 2, 2009 Don't bother going near the port that late. The room rates will be higher and you aren't needing anything at the time other than a bed. Cab it to the port at 11:00.
goldencruiser Posted February 2, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted February 2, 2009 What shuttle company are you using to get to the pier? How much do they charge? Thanks.
