Shop Hours

I'm sorry if this is posted already, but my search was pointless.

 

What hours do most of the shops keep? We have scheduled longer tours because that's why we're going in the first place, but I'd still like to squeeze in a few shops if possible.

 

We will be in Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan.

It varies dramatically by the type of shop and the number of ships in port. The shops who are only open for a few weeks a year are pretty much open whenever any ship is in port, the locally-owned ones take some time off when things slow down.

When we were in Juneau and Skagway, the shops knew better than we did when we had to be back on board. It appeared that most of the ones near the dock were open whatever hours the cruise ships were in port.

The shops stay open as long as people are wandering the streets with disposable income. *

In Ketchikan most of them stay open until the last boat leaves.
