Hi, Could some one tell me if this hotel is on the beach. The website shows an arial picture that makes it look like it is but they don't mention it actually being on the beach, just a pool. So someone who has stayed there or been there, could you confirm or deny? I got a price of $150 but would really like to spend my 2 days post cruise at the beach. Thanks in advance!

it is across the street from the beach....and it is a timeshare unit also......

many of the hotels in that area are across from the beach.

Marriott Beach Place is in a great location right across the street from the beach with lots of shops and restaurants around it. The only Fort Lauderdale Hotels on the beach that I can think of are not in the area where all the action is, but they are:

Lago Mar

Marriott Harbor Beach

Pelican Beach Resort

Ocean Manor Resort

Ocean Sky

Personally, I would go with the moderately priced hotels across the street from the beach in the middle of everything: Beach Place, Courtyard, or Bahia Mar. It sounds like you got a great price for Beach Place.

I've enjoyed the place a couple of stays. At check in see if they can give you a whole timeshare unit. They rent out what they call a lockoff which is just the bedroom part of a unit with its own fridge/ microwave. I like the view from the high floors facing east or west. BPT sits on top of a 5 story parking deck which can take a while to get in & out of. Enjoy you stay.

There are only four hotels in Ft Lauderdale directly on the beach,

The Lago Mar

The Harbor Beach Marriott

The Sheraton Yankee Clipper

and the Pelican Grand Beach Resort

The Ocean Manor Resort and the Ocean Sky are 15 minutes north of Ft Lauderdale (a helluva cab ride)

Ocean Manor Resort and Ocean Sky are IN Fort Lauderdale, about 2 miles north of Pelican Grand. They are 15-20 minutes from downtown Fort Lauderdale, but they are still in Fort Lauderdale.
