Gingee Posted November 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2004 Saw the movie Christmas with the Kranks. Bummer on not being able to go on the Jubille Carnival. I don't want to tell the end to anyone who hasn't seen it but I doubt you can change your people within sixteen hours of departure. Cute show though. hstrybuf Posted November 27, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2004 I haven't seen it since I read the book on which it is based, "Skipping Christmas". I thought that was a real let down, but then I love cruising. ;)
kristy Posted November 27, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2004 The part that I laughed out loud at was when Tim Allen's character was describing CCL's Jubilee as the newest, most luxurious ship!!! LMAO Good movie, lots of funny parts and we enjoyed seeing it!
bcs819 Posted November 27, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 27, 2004 I read it, too. When I got to the part in question, I remember saying out loud, "Uh, yeah, like you can do that!"
Gingee Posted November 27, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted November 27, 2004 We cruisers know the real things when we hear them. By the way, there isn't a Carnival Jubillee ship, is there?

There was....was being the keyword. She was considered a mega liner(around 30,000 tons) in the 80's, when she debuted. I sailed her a few times. I think she's been converted to a Princess ship now.
