robnbill Posted March 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2009 We just completed a cruise from Valparaiso to Buenos Aires on the Celebrity Infinity. We were in a Celebrity Suite. If anyone is interested, we posted a blog from our trip as well as photos on our website. The cruise was a blast. So much diversity in ports and sights. We loved the trip. robnbill Posted March 21, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted March 21, 2009 We were in Brazil a few years ago. We loved it. Carnival in Rio was something everyone should try at least once. We fell in live with Buzios. Of course we did get a small taste of it again when we were in Iguazu this time. We will be back there. Count on it. Rare brazilgirl Posted March 21, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 21, 2009 Buzios is so chic...You should visit Parati , a coastal , colonial city which has been preserved beautifully (UNESCO). I want to do the Infinity cruise that you did...next on my list! Kim

emcee207 Posted March 21, 2009 #8 Share Posted March 21, 2009 My travel agent wrote me about a cruise they are escorting in December of this year, Oceania. Stops in Rio, Buzios, Ilha Grande, Parati, Sao Paulo, Itaji, Punta Del Este, Uruguay, Montevideo, and ends in Buenos Aries. I had never even thougt about cruising around South America but my curiousity has been piqued. Any thoughts? What would the weather be like that time of year?? NorCalCruiseGuy Posted March 21, 2009 #9 Share Posted March 21, 2009 Our frist cruise together was Rio to Valparaiso. It remains our favorite cruise of all. Amazing places, people, and scenery. We would definitely recommend a South American cruise! Paul and Joe

Rare brazilgirl Posted March 21, 2009 #11 Share Posted March 21, 2009 Buzios , Parati , and Ilha Grande are all GORGEOUS places- very different from Caribbean destinations. All the cities on the Oceania cruise are fascinating and I am sure you would really enjoy them. December is summertime and it can be hot!! Is this itinerary available in November? Then you´d be avoiding the Brazilians on vacation ( December and January are the most crowded times of the year for the beach towns). Have fun. giuseppes1933 Posted March 21, 2009 #12 Share Posted March 21, 2009 Did you eat dinner in the Oceanview? What did you really enjoy, or were disappointed in. We are taking the Infinity in May, and would like to know your views.
robnbill Posted March 22, 2009 Author #13 Share Posted March 22, 2009 We did eat occasionally in the Oceanview buffet for lunch. However we never had dinner there. We either ate in the Trellis (the main dining room) or the SS United States. We also had dinner once in our room with friends. This was served very nicely by the butler. For lunch we often dined in the Trellis as well. Breakfast was usually in our room. We enjoyed the food. The SS United States is very nice and the equal to the specialty restaurants on the other Milly class ships. We actually think it is better than the specialty restaurants on the Solstice, although we did enjoy them, we just didn't think they were quite up to those on the Milly class. Of course we were on the Solstice last December and they might be up to or surpassing the Milly class by now. Enjoy the Infinity. This was out second trip on her. We were on here from BA to Rio for Carnival a few years ago. She has aged well. Bill
