emmas_mom Posted April 5, 2009 #51 Share Posted April 5, 2009 Thank you so much for your review! My husband and I will be going on our first cruise in 3 weeks, and it is on the Sensation to Freeport and Nassau. I have a question for you. What is the least dressed up a guy could get and not look out of place for the cocktail parties? My husband hates getting dressed up so I assume we will just be skipping them, but I'm still going to try to get him to change his mind.
mom2girls Posted April 5, 2009 Author #52 Share Posted April 5, 2009 Thank-you so much! I have wanted to post some of our pictures for so long. It finally worked and it was so simple following your advice. I posted a few and now I will know how to include them in future reviews. Thank-you for sharing your pictures and your help. I'm glad I could help! And, of course I'm looking forward to your future reviews! Thank you so much for your review! I didn't see anyone in jeans or shorts though.
beach410 Posted April 5, 2009 #53 Share Posted April 5, 2009 At 2:00 the girls wanted to go to Camp, so they went to Camp, and I went to enjoy the Serenity area. I have to say that this is the place to go to when you want some peace and quiet. I picked the girls up at 4:00. We watched the sailaway from Freeport, then we went to the cabin to get ready for the Captain’s cocktail party. We were ready a little early, so I headed to the sushi bar, but unfortunately it wasn’t open. I was a little bummed, but I survived. We hung out at the Mirage Bar for a little while, and I took pictures of the girls dressed in their nice dresses. Then, we headed to cocktail party. The girls were so happy that they had fruit punch that they had 4 glasses! I also had several glasses of champagne. I am happy to say that they now have to cocktail parties again. I think it’s unfair to those who have early dinner to only have one. Awww, they are soo pretty!

mom2girls Posted April 6, 2009 Author #56 Share Posted April 6, 2009 When we got back to the ship we hung out at the waterpark. Then we went to the pool for a little while. The girls were happy with this because they were playing a game with the kids. The kids got to dive in the pool to see how many golf balls they could get. Each ball was worth a certain amount. The kid with the most won a medal. My girls didn’t win the medal, but they had fun playing. Nassau night was the night the kids had their late night party. So, I let them eat with their friends. Since I had a few hours of free time I decided to explore the ship some. They opened the Casino up at 7:00. (I kind of wish they hadn’t because I lost some money.) After dinner I hung out at the Piano Bar with one of my roll call friends. Then I went to check out the Karaoke. Some of it was good, some not so good. LOL! They painted the kids faces for the Funship Freddy hunt! The next few pictures are of the Piano Bar.

mom2girls Posted April 6, 2009 Author #58 Share Posted April 6, 2009 Unfortunately, the last day had to arrive. My youngest daughter and I woke up early, so we went to the Lido deck for breakfast. After breakfast we sat on some chairs near the waterpark just watching the ocean go by. It was kind of nice. Unfortunately, my daughter wanted some more action. So, since the waterpark wasn’t open we headed to the pool. We hung out there until it was time for her to “hunt” for Funship Freddy. I took her to Camp, then hung out at the pool some more with my oldest daughter. After Camp, we had lunch. I tried the goat cheese pizza. It was VERY good. It was definitely worth the wait. After lunch the girls wanted to do some camp activities, so I decided to go to the Serenity area for a while. Wow, that was heaven. Around 4:00 I picked up the girls, we went to the room to rest, then get ready for dinner. Instead of resting I ended up starting the packing. I remembered that I needed a bag for the wet bathing suits. So, I went down to the gift shop to get one. Of course, I couldn’t pass up the sushi on the way back. So, I ordered some. I brought it back to the room to enjoy before I got ready for dinner. My youngest wanted to eat with her friends, so we dropped her off then headed to watch the ocean for a while. (I can sit, and do that for hours.) My oldest wanted to go to the farewell party, but she still wanted to eat dinner with me. So, I told her that was fine. So, I went to watch the show. The show was called Curves, and was pretty good. I’m pretty sure that I’ve seen it before, but I didn’t mind watching it again. Dinner was very good. But, it was sad to say good-bye to our tablemates and waiters. That song they sing always gets me teary eyed. Circle-C Arcade
mom2girls Posted April 6, 2009 Author #59 Share Posted April 6, 2009 After dinner we went to pick up my youngest. Unfortunately, I didn’t finish packing so we went back to the room to pack. I was planning on carrying my luggage with me, so this wasn’t too big of a deal. We were exhausted, so after I packed we turned in for the night. We woke up around 7:00. I heard an announcement. I was surprised to hear that they were already letting self-assist disembark. So, we hurriedly went to breakfast. They called our floor for self-assist when we were finishing up. So, we went back to the room to get our things. We were off the ship at 8:00! I was very impressed with how smoothly this ran. Overall, it was a nice and relaxing trip. I would certainly sail the Sensation again in a heartbeat. I don't remember what day we saw the Disney ship, but I thought it was a good picture! breezycruiser Posted April 6, 2009 #60 Share Posted April 6, 2009 Great review Kelli Ann! If I haven't told you before, I loved all your reviews. Kurt was right. Emily really did catch up to Megan in height. Of course both girls are cute as can be. I just think Emily looks so much like you!

mom2girls Posted April 7, 2009 Author #64 Share Posted April 7, 2009 Mom2girls! Your review was awesome! And your little girls are gorgeous!!!! I love the pictures as well! What color theme is on the inside of the Sensation? Thank you so much for the compliment! For the most part the color theme was purple. But, the lights in the atrium area did change color. I thought this was a nice touch. :) To me, the purple didn't really seem overbearing as others have stated.

Cptnkirky Posted April 17, 2009 #67 Share Posted April 17, 2009 Do you remember which dining room is reserved for the anytime dining, and which is for the reserved dining times? Just curious! :) Thanks! I LOVED your review! It got us soooo ready to be on that ship!

SRQMom Posted April 23, 2009 #71 Share Posted April 23, 2009 Great review and your girls are adorable. Great pics. We're traveling w/family consisting of adults and one 5 year old. We chose early dining since he's typically in bed at by 8:30 each night... but now wondering if we'll miss stuff (the first night Camp Carnival meeting??, the Captains Party, etc.). It sounds like you did late seating? Did you know anyone who did someting called the "anytime" dining? If so, was anything said about wait times? A lot of our free time is going to be based around Camp Carnival acivities. Any recommendations on dining with kids, times, etc. and Camp Carnival activities would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :) The Camp Carnival meeting was before the first seating. The Captain's Parties are before both seatings as well. There was "anytime" dining on the Sensation, but I didn't talk to anyone who did it. One of my girls ate with Camp twice, the other ate once. I hope this info helps some. Buterfly3547 Posted May 11, 2009 #74 Share Posted May 11, 2009 I loved your review it helped me a lot! We have been leaning towards taking this cruise but was unsure if there would be enough "family activities" on board. Our family have only cruised once before on the Disney Magic(got a great last minute deal)...it was amazing! I priced both the Disney Wonder and the Sensation and as much as we would love to do the Disney Cruise it is double the price! What were some of your children's favorite activities in Camp Carnival? What age group are your girls? My girls are 5&7. Thank you!!!

She really liked the volcano activity and the t-shirt activity. I'm not sure which one was her favorite because she's not with me right now. But, she always wanted to go to Camp. :)
