Freedom Balcony Suggestions

We had a balcony cabin on the Verandah Deck (Deck 8) on a March sailing of the Freedom. The cabin number was 8320 and was located directly under the Lido Deck which has the swimming pool. Was it noisier? Yes but not to the point were I would complain to Carnival. We expected some noise and that is what we got.

Actually, almost all balcony cabins are alike in size so it really doesn't matter what deck you select. It is either easier to get to the theater or dining room or easier to get to the Lido Deck. Being close to the front or rear of the ship can also make a difference. I have also heard that elevators and the laundry can make a difference.

On the Freedom, the Upper Deck may be a good choice since it is cheaper than the upper cabins but it still gives you easy access to the dining room, casino and the theater. You would have to take an elevator to the Lido Deck unless you like to climb 3 or 4 flights of steps.

We are contemplating the Thanksgiving week sailing for the Freedom. We will be booking a balcony cabin. Which category or cabin should we book? We haven't sailed Carnival for several years. Advice is appreciated!

There are a lot of very fine locations for a cabin!!

My personal favorite on the Conquest Class ships are on the Panorama Deck (deck 10) - any cabin located below one of the SPa Deck cabins would be fine for me but if I had total choice it would be just forward of the elevator bank.....I was just in 1039 on the Liberty (sister ship) and it was just right :D

After that I would go for the Lido Deck and then the Empress Deck (Forward or Aft of the very last elevator bank each way)

HOWEVER.....this is my personal preference. Many people like mid-ship, others like aft cabins......

My stateroom with a veranda was on Deck 8 and enjoyed it very much. Cabins above and below mine, so noise was non-existant except for people in the hallway talking louder than necessary. Heard no noise from adjoining cabins.

We loved the Panorama deck too! Very quiet, not a lot of cabins, and so convenient to the pool decks. We were in 1054 on Freedom and 1038 on Valor. Loved it up there! No additional motion, that we ever noticed.

Hey Liza.. I just booked liberty cabin 1067 on the panorama deck.. first cabin on the hallway right next to the elevator bank. I was really stuck choosing between the lido deck and panorama deck. Your post reinforces the idea that i made the right choice :)

1067 is a great location on Liberty. Here's some pics of 1067 from when we had that cabin. (With Bon Voyage decorations) ;

Different angle. We left our door propped open most of the time. There's very little traffic on that deck;

Here's the view of the room from the entry way to the open deck. From where the pic was taken, it's about twenty feet to a lounge chair in the sun. (DW Karen is standing in 1067 doorway) ;

Our boys were in 1065 and this is our balcony divider being opened;

would there be a difference if there are 4 or 3 people in a balcony room? I thought I read all balcony rooms are the same size.

Yes. the standard balcony cabins are the same size. We were 3 in the cabin on the Freedom. There were 2 twin beds and the couch converted to a bed at night. The quads additionally have a pull-down bunk that the cabin steward will set up for you. You can look at the deck plans. triples and quads have a symbol which you can see in the key to figure out which cabins will accomodate you. If you go through the booking processs on the website and put in 3 or 4 people it will only show you cabins available that will accomodate you.

Fantastic!! DH and I are on the opposite side of the ship, in 1066, and the rest of the group in 1064. So we'll be sharing the balcony, too! :) Thanks for posting these pics! That's awesome how close we will be to the doors leading outside.
