Carolinamamasita Posted May 3, 2009 #28 Share Posted May 3, 2009 The past guest party was tonight and they kept the stuff flowing. Their was a mototown review, he was really good. The band on the lido deck is GREAT does a lot Bob Marley. The show last night was Around the World with the dancer then at 11:45 was the adult rated comdey show. The Captains Party was last night, again very generous with the drinks! I did ask about the Whale Tail cups today....none onboard, picking up some in port tomorrow. The Coconut heads came out today. No problem going under the bridges. One right at sunset, it was beautiful! We have an obstructed balcony......wont do again. Not as good as a clear oceanview. Thats all for now......Nassua tomorrow. I have a question... I havent cruised since last October and I have been noticing that the newest capers state that the parties have only WINE, CHAMPAGNE AND BEER available for free from the drink servers ...and that if you want something other then that , you must go to the Bar Counters to get it . Is this true? I know the past parties that I had been to ...the servers always brought around various drinks for us to have . I would appreciate any info regarding this Thanks Carolina

Collcoll Posted May 3, 2009 #31 Share Posted May 3, 2009 Thanks so much! We sail July 24th from Baltimore. I have some questions -- If you don't mind answering after your return? 1. How was embarkation? What time were you able to get on the ship? Were there long lines? Was it complex or easy? 2. Did you try the anytime dining? Did it seem to be an issue now that it's been implemented? 3. Were the waters rough sailing from Baltimore? I've heard that they can be. 4. Did you have the best time EVER! djheart007 Posted May 3, 2009 #33 Share Posted May 3, 2009 anamanxs oh no .... we too booked an obstructed balcony .. balcony cabin 5162... Do you know anything about the view? Heard the large life boats are at railing level. And that the balcony is very small. Received a good price but is it worth it? Not sure if we can change at this point. JKAMAM Posted May 3, 2009 #34 Share Posted May 3, 2009 Obstructed balconies are awful. No way I would book one. It's only better than an inside. Thanks for the review. We go May 10th. Is it true the waterslide is not working?
lives to cruise Posted May 3, 2009 #35 Share Posted May 3, 2009 Hi everyone. I just returned home from a wonderful afternoon. When DH and I had cruised before on the victory we made wonderful friends with a few of the crew members and one of them was deployed to the Pride. I picked her up this morning when the Pride came back into Baltimore. While I was waiting for her to debark, I spoke to a number of the passengers that were getting off. Each and every one of them said that they had had a wonderful cruise. They told me the Pride is a beautiful ship and that the cruise and destinations were great! My friend is the Casino Host and I asked her a bunch of questions about the cruise. One of the questions was when the casino opens. She told me that they cannot open until about two hours into the cruise. Has to do with some law or something. Anyway, The Pride looked beautiful even in the pouring rain today and every passenger looked like they had a ball. Just thought I would share. :)

drumline Posted May 3, 2009 #39 Share Posted May 3, 2009 Was it very rocky sailing out? Baltimore is my home town and I would love to go back and sail from there but heard that years ago it was a rocky ride.

We have a ways to go yet, we're sailing on 12/26/10, we only have about 600 more days to wait! Thank goodness we also have a cruise coming up this summer to look forward to. DocF Posted May 4, 2009 #41 Share Posted May 4, 2009 When are you sailing? We are sailing on 8/21. Lets hope that the room is not too bad or should I say balcony. DW and I are on this cruise and we booked an obstructed view balcony after being assured by several people that the view is OK looking out, not down. We have one that is by the davits, so the view around the lifeboat should be somewhat better. The after obstructed view cabins have smaller lifeboats in front of them, so I gather the view is somewhat better. Big deal one way or the other. We are on a cruise, on a ship and not contending with the troubles of everyday life. Have you joined the Roll Call as yet? See you over there! CruisinMenika Posted May 4, 2009 #42 Share Posted May 4, 2009 I would also love to hear how rough it was. I cruised the Miracle out of Baltimore and spent the first day and last day seasick. I am wanting to try Baltimore again, though.
anamanxs Posted May 4, 2009 Author #43 Share Posted May 4, 2009 Wow, so many questions.....I am having a little bit of land sick. The room is rocking a little, I do this for a day or two after I get on land. Do not get sick at sick up the room spins after we get home! The ship was beautiful There are two formal nights, Monday and Friday (after Freeport) The bar has two tasting nights...... The drinks at the captains party were about 6 - 8 different kinds (no other choice), but flowed freely The past guest party had about the same but included a blue margareta and rum punch! - again flowed freely Two late night adult shows, both very funny...one used a lot of cuss words, the other Percy Crews 2 (funny, adult, but no cuss words) Two shows - one Vroom, the other a musical review A passenger talent show.... Sat. night No free drinks in the casino Rich who was on the Sensation at one time is the new Cruise Director, Leslie his assistant left today for her time off at home in England. They have a corney morning show each morning 0n the TV The ship was fairly smooth, not a lot of rocking. I was in 5143, I think it is probably the most obstructed due to the rope and tall life boats. I will post pictures tomorrow.
anamanxs Posted May 4, 2009 Author #44 Share Posted May 4, 2009 OH, NO whale cups, they could not tell us why they did have any or if they had been discontinued. No one seemed to know...asked several bars! DOD was 7.95, other's were in 8.95 in Carnival cup! Purell stations all around the ship and on the Lido deck by the food stations. Chacooe Posted May 4, 2009 #46 Share Posted May 4, 2009 For us that live on the West Coast, we fought Carnival for a long time trying to prevent her from leaving here. She is a beautiful ship, none like any other Carnival ship. All of you that live on the East Coast now have the top passenger rated Carnival ship for the last 4 years. You had better take care of her or we will fight to get her back. :D:p I am just kidding, I know all of you will love her as much as we did here.
