Istanbul - 3am

Will there be taxi's at the port at this time to take us to the airport? Or should I just stick with the transfer I booked? TIA!

I have no idea, but would advise you to book transportation ahead of time. Whether you should keep what you already have or not, I don't know, but would advise you that I found taxi drivers to be expert scam artists in Istanbul!

If your timing is critical (e.g., early flight), you might stick with the transfer.

 

I agree with the previous poster that taxi drivers in Istanbul unfortunately can be less than honest; if you do go with one, try to get them to agree to a price (and be clear about what currency) BEFORE you set off. Our sister site, tripadvisor, could probably give you a good idea what the fare should be.

 

Also, you should realize that taxis in many cities charge a higher rate to transport you at night, so a cab ride at 3am will cost you more than one at 3pm, for example.

Thanks for the info! I think I'll just keep our transfer. We booked going to the port (Barcelona), and if we booked one going from the port, we got a $5 discount per person, per way. Plus, I don't want to have to worry about being scammed at 3am. LoL. Thanks!
