Noisy Rooms on Liberty deck 6 still a problem?

We just booked on Liberty and will be in 6327 on deck 6 just above the casino. After booking and checking out the ship online, I happened into an old thread from 2005 talking about the noise problems that went on until 1 or 2 a.m. above the casino and piano man bar on deck 6. The thread went on for quite a few pages so the problem was not isolated. I'm curious as to whether this problem still exists 4 years later or if it has been fixed somehow. Thanks in advance for any information you can share.

Although I don't know the answer for sure; I would suspect the noise issues still exist in those cabins :(.

the noise issue is different for every cruiser. IF you are a light sleeper, then yes, the noise may bother you. However, everyone told me don't get under the lido deck restaurant. it will be noisy. NOT... we loved that room. although just off the elevators, and a balcony, and one deck below the restaurant, it was quiet as a mouse. Heard a chair 1 day and that was the last day.

we have also been directly over the bridge and NOT a sound.

Hi,

I have the same room booked on the 12-19-09 cruise and now I'm worried. In the diagram it looks like the casino is on the opposite side of the ship then that cabin and that the bar part will really be over that cabin.

I stayed in the casino until 3:00 am some nights playing poker. It got pretty loud in there. You also have a guy playing music along the promenade right next to the casino.

We stayed on deck 6 above the casino in May. The first night we could hear every announcement being made LOUD and clear. Every night after that, I could hear the dinging of the slot machines and people cheering. I am a very light sleeper, so that might have contributed to the problem. I tried using ear plugs but didn't like the feel of them. Opening the balcony door helped most nights, until people started partying on their balconies. Good luck. I would look into changing decks.

We've been 'under the Lido' aft, over the 'dining room', and never had any late night issues! :) However, one must be prudent, and stay away from cabins located over or under the Casino, Galley, late nite bars etc..:o

I'm a somewhat lite sleeper, so any cabin located in close proximity to any social gathering venue, is crossed off my list. As always, a cabin sandwiched between passenger cabin decks is your best bet, if you are not sure where to chose!:p IMHO!;)

The odd number cabins on the upper deck is where the noise level will be the loudest.l

Being over the casino in an even number room-- you will have no worries unless you are over the lounge stage area-- then you will get the vibrations.

the cabins to avoid on deck 6 6347 thru 6383 which puts you directly on top of the band that sets up across from the casino and they do not start playing til 9pm.

6445 thru 6483 is ontop of the piano bar which can get hopping on most cruises-- we had 6443 and heard nothing but the next doorneighbor had a rough time. so moving down one cabin is better.

6327 is over the shops so you have no worries about noise

Actually every room has something that someone might not like. They are either noisy, too small, smelly, too close to the back of the ship, too close to the front of the ship, too near the elevators, too near the bufett traffic, above the casino, below the casino, etc. I gave up on picking out rooms...im going to just take what i get.

I am in room 6251 - looks like i am right above the venetian palace main lounge. I am thinking I should call and try to move - I have a dd who is a light sleeper and sometimes likes to go to bed early. Has anyone stayed about the lounge before? How bad is it? Also, there will be 3 in our room. I know with other cruise lines it won't let 3 people book a room if it won't hold 3 people. I hope carnival is the same way - in looking at the deck plan - doesn't look like room 6251 has a sofa or a pullman.

most balcony cabins have sofas-- some convert to a bed and others do no - they are small love seats.

I see your room is only for two people- how odd that you were able to book that room for 3 of you- Please check on that.

As for being over the Victoria Lounge-- that is the show lounge and it will be shows going until 10:30 at the latest. But you are over the seating area and not the speakers.

How strange is this. Just fooling around reading threads about the cruise I booked last night and find that I'm now in the same cabin (6327) - same cruise! Never realized the cabin was just over the casino. I'm moving too! Thanks for the info!

It sounds like we might be fine. There were no more balconies at our group rate and the next level would have added about $256 per person to our cruise. It appears like we will be fine where we are since we are above the shops. I will definitely start a thread for how our room worked out when we get back from our January 23rd cruise. Thanks for all your replies!
