Europe 2010 on Gem...

It's safer if you book early, especially if you want a particular cabin. This way your protecting any increases which are more likely to happen than decreases with the economy picking up. You can always chase the promo's up till final payment which is about 75 days before sail date thats if you book direct with NCL. If your using a TA you will want to check if they will honor any promos after booking and see what there cancellation policy is.

As the previous poster said, you may want to go ahead and book now. We booked about a month ago and a week later prices went WAY up on our Gem cruise - $2000 for our cabin!!! It is kind of surprising, but there are a lot of people already on our roll call so apparently it is selling well. Just keep an eye on prices after you book and check for price reductions - they may or may not happen.

I agree, book NOW. We have over 50 people on our roll call and it is growing every day.

Just because there are not people on your roll-call, does not mean that it is not selling. There are many people out there that do not know about Cruise Critic, or do not become active until the sailing gets a bit closer. :)

There is no one on my 15 May roll- call and 2 people on the 22 May roll-call. (we are on for 14 days)

The price of our cabin has gone up over 800.00 PP since we booked.

Which sailing has over 50 on the roll call? The Gem May 1 has had no one since Aug. 16 and very few at all. I'm worried the sailing may be canceled. Could that happen?

We are sailing on April 24th and have over 50 on our roll call already. Some are doing a B2B with either the TA before or the Greek Cruise Part II--which would be your cruise on May 1st. We have a web site set up with tours, photos, roll call, etc.

We booked Oct 2010 as soon as the Latitudes brochure came out, at a ridiculously low price, having just stepped off the Jade in March, where we'd already paid our deposit. By paying our gratuities up front, and having credit for one Med flight on our CC, we should be having a week in Greece for less than a package trip to one of the Greek Islands.- jocap.
