  1. If a lot of Retreat cabins were sold as GTY, and the actual rooms were not yet assigned, it would look like a lot of availability for MoveUp’s because the rooms appeared unsold, when in fact there was not much availability.
  2. If the price is the same, I’d go for the Aqua guarantee and hope for the best on location. Having breakfasts and dinners in Blu makes it a whole different experience than a Veranda cabin.
  3. I imagine there are similar cruises with a $10,000 per cabin difference, but I’ve never seen one, and I think it’s more the exception than the rule. Of course, unlike with you, we’re pretty flexible and I compare the best pricing I can find with the best pricing I can find.
  4. I don’t think they’ve announced it, but Silversea’s first level over its initial level is 100 days. That would put it in the D/D+, E/E+ area.
  5. That’s quite a big difference, I’ve never found it that large when comparing suite to suite and remember that the SS price is out the door, so to speak. No adding of taxes, port fees, gratuities. Also, you have to compare to the SS port to port pricing or else add airfare, etc. to the Celebrity price.
  6. Yes, I neglected to mention I was talking about getting a refund. Mea Culpa.
  7. I’m glad that worked out for you, but it’s not the same as getting a refund, and doesn’t work out for everyone.
  8. Princess Platinum is not a cancel for any reason plan. You may need a letter from the physician that she’s unable to travel. You do see people cruising in casts, etc.
  9. But it is explicitly excluded by the Princess coverage if you had been drinking or taking drugs.
  10. That’s pretty much gobbledygook for a person without much history with the Princess board and its acronyms.
  11. Also, unless something has changed post-COVID, the bottles you pay the $20 fee for can be brought to the dining room without an additional corkage fee, so you could bring those bottles to dinner instead of just a glass.
  12. Which doesn’t work so well if your cruise leaves from Southampton and you need euros. It’s somewhat of a conundrum for me, we leave Southampton, have a stop in Portland, and then a tour directly from the ship in Ireland.
  13. Maybe you’ll be able to get thirty drinks a day.😉
