Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thanks for this. Is the internet 2 devices per person or 2 devices per cabin included in the YC? I’ve seen it described both ways. Do you know if you pay for a third person in the cabin the YC do they get additional devices included in their price?
  2. My point was that this is inconsistent with the email Celebrity sent.
  3. No. We did the antigen test yesterday for our cruise tomorrow. That was negative. I meant I wasn’t going to schedule him an appointment for day-of testing.
  4. I knew the email wasn’t specific to us. It just seems like the email is wrong. If only unvaccinated require day of testing, why not say that? I’m not going to make him an appointment and we’ll see what happens when we get there.
  5. We’re flying to FLL to depart on the Equinox tomorrow. My son (10) is traveling with us. He is fully vaccinated and boosted. Based on the Celebrity website (attached) we did not think he needed a day-of COVID test because he is vaccinated. Similarly, he doesn’t require a pre-cruise PCR test, just an antigen test. Today, we received an email (attached) that says all children ages 2-11 require a day-of COVID test and has a link to schedule the test. Does anyone know which is correct? I’m concerned that if he does need a day-of test, maybe he needed a PCR test pre-cruise too, although I haven’t seen anything that says that.

  7. We got Mexican Riveria too, but concierge class balcony with drinks and wifi (but not tips). Given that we have a comped balcony with all the perks next week, it wasn’t interesting to me.
  8. When our son was younger, they would bring something from the children's menu and he would eat. One of us would then take him back to camp. To do this, we'd time our meals so that camp would be open shortly after we started dinner. He'd often color at the table while waiting for his food.
  9. My son has been cruising since he was 11 months old. Despite the covid shutdown, he's just completed his 12th cruise in April at 10 1/2 years old with two more booked. We've done Carnival, Disney, and Celebrity with him. I'm not sure anything can top Disney, and it really is a wonderful line. The food, service, and ships were impeccable. Seeing his face light up when Buzz or Mickey came around a corner were well worth the very premium price. That said, he has loved the Celebrity cruises we have done. He loves to draw, color, and in recent years, play video games. He thinks the camp on Celebrity is less repetitive than it is on Carnival, though he enjoys that too. He has always been a kid who woke up asking what time the camp opened, and begging to stay until the wee hours of the morning. Kids are different though, and your mileage may vary. Almost without fail, the camp staff on all the lines have been warm, welcoming, and friendly.
  10. It depends on the kids’ ages. My son is too young for the app, so I believe I created an account for him and put in the incorrect birthday to make him a couple years older. I then added the confirmation number to the app, and it worked fine allowing us to communicate. We used it to message with him onboard whenever we were separated.
  11. That makes much more sense! Thanks for the clarification.
  12. Yikes, so for $115 you get nothing but 20 minutes? That’s really misleading since it says choose from one of eight designs. The site should really say explicitly that there’s another charge on top of that.
  13. I’ve had some long restaurant meals, but I don’t think any of them have quite made it to 7+ days yet.
