  1. Good morning Daily-ites We will have upper 80's today and strong to severe thunderstorms this evening. Claudio and his guys came yesterday. Our magnolia tree will be OK. Apparently when we had rocks put around the trees the drip line was cut. They also fertilized all the plants and trees and I'm set to begin summer. Tonight is girl's game night. I'm making chicken enchilada dip. I was supposed to make it last week but my car battery died and was in the shop. It was an eventful night for Oliver. He chewed my new reading glasses and shredded the papers I was reading before bed.. He gave me his cute innocent looking 👀 like "I wonder how that happened?" Sending prayers to all on our cares lists. Vanessa, great job, and happy you are feeling better. Hope BFF has good news today. Sandi drive safely. I'm excited for your upcoming cruise. Hoping you have good reception and can share some pictures along the way! Terry, thankful you are getting some help from the other family members. How is your shoulder? Wishing our Daily friends a blessed day.
  2. Our magnolia tree is alive. Claudio noted the drip line was cut. It must have happened when we had the river rock placed around our trees last year. Dinner tonight MSH wants bratwurst and potato salad. I'm having a cluster of king crab. Salads and rice pilaf.
  3. Good morning Daily-ites Thinking of everyone who is ill, suffering hardships, pain, and loss of loved ones. Our little Oliver suffered from cruelty the first 10 months of his life. Locked in a cage with 3 other 🐕, flea bitten and loss of hair. The hoarder was arrested in Dallas area. She had about 60 dogs caged, several dead in their cages, faked pedigree paperwork, I hope she's still in jail in her own cage. Here's sweet Ollie on his adoption day: Today I have Claudio coming to look at our magnolia tree. It started off looking great with lots of buds, then started dropping and lost the buds. Claudio thinks it has a disease from so much rain. It's my favorite tree and hope he can save it. My girlfriend is dropping off 2 of her little charges for a few hours this morning while she leads a class. Moji and Bean.. Speaking of... I was given the name of a pet sitter for the first week we are gone. She sounds so friendly and dog loving. We are planning to get together in the next few weeks so I can see the arrangements. I'm bringing my above mentioned BFF who is a wonderful dog whisperer, who will take Oliver for the rest of our 53 cruise days. I think of @kazu at the last minute finding Ivan a sitter. It's a relief knowing you leave your pet in good hands. I'm not sure what will be on our dinner table tonight. I just made sautéed spinach with bacon so it won't be today's dish. Wishing everyone an eventful day. Blessings!
  4. Good morning Daily-ites Thank you @kazu for the Fleet Report. I sure wish we could get better news on your foot. I would certainly let your salon know what's going on. Never worry about griping. We love you and we're here to help. Prayers lifted to all on Vanessa's finely tuned cares list. Vanessa, especially adding your BFF in prayer. Sandi @StLouisCruisers: How is your brother doing? I really wish I had my phone with me when I took Oliver out this morning. A rabbit started chasing Ollie around the yard! Ollie thought it great fun. The bunny slipped through the fence and Ollie sat awhile hoping the bunny would return. Yesterday I took a bag of lawn fertilizer, my spreader, and carpet cleaner to my GF house. I fertilized her lawn, and set up the carpet cleaner for her. She gave me a 20 pound bag of bird seed as a thanks. She helped me last week when my battery on the car died. If anyone is interested, I have the best mini jumper cables that uses a charged flash light looking battery. It doesn't need another car to do the jumping. Great gadget. Today is Sun City Farmer's market. I hope the Alaska fish lady is there. If so, we will have grilled halibut on the table tonight. This is an easy week. No doctors, no labs.. free as birds. Now next week is a different story. Wishing you a blessed day. I'm thankful for our Daily-ites.
  5. Oh, I thought it was regarding Vanessa's BFF ER visit..
  6. We have a few unique acronyms here on the Daily. I use MSH (My sweet husband) @kazu uses DD DH I think it is "Dearly departed dear husband" DS and DS can be both sister and son. Look for additional information if they use he or she. DGD: dear granddaughter DGS: dear grandson IMHO: in my humble opinion Others will chime in, I have to finish my M&C (macaroni and cheese) lol
  7. Good morning Daily-ites from a cloudy morning, high 84, rain in the afternoon day. Jacqui, welcome home. Thank you for your cruise thread. Merry widow indeed. Let us know about your foot! Safe travels Sandi. Loved the McCafe picture! It sounds like everyone returning from their cruises had a great time. Looking forward to hearing more. Prayers to all on our lists. I had an add on for my book. Our friends dad moved to aggressive rehab after a stroke. Today will be a gas and market run, and my wine request is due in today. Wishing everyone a blessed day!
  8. Jacqui!! Welcome home! I hope you feel better soon!! We will be sailing on Westerdam Sept 1st, 53 day Majestic Japan. Thank you!
  9. I had Hep A, TDAP and typhoid for travel in 2019 but not a Hep B. I'll check on that. Thanks Paul.
  10. Thank you so much. I had a covid shot yesterday and asked the pharmacist about the shots. She said she had a few suggestions but wanted me to contact my doctor for sure.
  11. I have a request thru my chart for my doctor last Friday and an email to my PCC, but since it's the weekend, I thought I would ask those in the know.
  12. Thanks Lenda. I asked our roll call and was told to Google it or ask TA. Very welcoming...
  13. Good morning Daily-ites from a very soggy Georgetown. Oliver tried getting closer and closer to me with every boom of thunder. I think he lost weight from shivering in fear. Sandi, congratulations to Morgan. There's a lot of pride in your family today! We had fun last night at the Kentucky Derby party at our ballroom. Appetizers, ham, chicken, potatoes, green beans, and bread pudding with whiskey sauce. Voted for the favorite hat for ladies and crazy socks for the guys. Our neighbor was fully dressed with wig and all as Colonel Sanders. When it was time to show off the guys socks on the runway, his socks were chicken feet! He won. The band was a country western group, but we left before they came on. I guess we won't celebrate Cinco d Mayo dinner suggestion. Allen put in his request for greens, ham hocks, and corn bread. Maybe I'll make us a margarita.. Prayers and cheers to all on Vanessa's well planned lists. Thanks to Debbie, Sandi, Dixie, Ann, Roy and Graham (Father David) for your contributions. Wait! A question: For those who cruised in Japan, do you or don't you need a visa? I've read conflicting articles. Also, although no immunization is required, what shots do you recommend? Thanks to all. Have a blessed day, and a safe, healthy, happy week.
